Bethesda has announced that Dishonored 2 will get a free update soon, adding a “New Game+” mode, and customizable difficulties.
The announcement was made as part of a five minute video, in which different Arkane Studios members talk about the “Play your way” approach to the game. Lead Designer Dinga Bakaba points out that it’s possible for players to pass up the Outsider’s abilities completely, an option that wasn’t there in the first game.
This decision to provide a horde of abilities and then giving an option to not have them, he said, came about “because we are confident that our core gameplay is interesting enough, and we are confident that the player who makes that choice wants that kind of experience. He wants to be a human being among human beings, and feel like he’s the best. He wants to be Batman and not Superman.”
A performance patch for the game is live on Steam. Another patch, which will supposedly “address a broader range of issues” and hopefully improve the performance.
Dishonored 2 was released for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 11th November.
