Death Note, a critically acclaimed manga turned anime turned multiple live action adaptations is getting another live action version, this time on Netflix. Directed by Blair Witch director Adam Wingard, the movie stars Nat Wolff from The Fault in Our Stars as Light Turner (Light Yagami), along with William Dafoe as Ryuk. The story revolves around Light stumbling across a notebook, which allows him to kill whoever he wants simply by writing their name in the notebook (hence the name, Death Note). Light decides that he will use the notebook to rid the world of all criminals, while a bored shinigami (Ryuk) tags along. In addition to Wolff and Dafoe, the film will also feature the likes of Altanta’s Keith Stanfield as Light’s nemesis L and The Leftovers’ Margaret Qualley as Mia Sutton, a take ...
The first official teaser for the seventh season of Game of Thrones is finally out, and raises a lot more questions than it answers. So many questions. It’s a very short trailer, and doesn’t really feature any of the characters on the screen. As the sigils of the various houses appear on the screen you can hear prominent quotes from the various family members in the background, like Danaerys Targayen, Cersei Lannister, Lady Olynna and more. But the most interesting part comes at the very end. Jon Snow, proclaimed as the King of the North in the last season, can be heard warning someone that only one war matters, and that war is here. The other battles the houses have been fighting are not going to mean a thing when they have to face The Great War. “The same thing is coming for ...
Netflix, like the popular phrase based off it, has permeated every layer of our existence. Slight exaggeration, but hey, even without a partner to ‘Netflix and Chill’ with, it is one of the best ways to spend your time. There is a huge range of shows available to us in India, even though the Indian catalogue is only a part of the actual collection. Here are some shows worth checking out: 1. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt You have probably never come across a show as weird as this one. The series focusses on the life of the titular character who was held captive by a cult leader in an underground bunker for 15 years. What follows when she is finally let out is her hilarious journey into a world where she has no idea how to survive. Guiding her grudgingly is the flamboyantly gay Titus Andronicus....
Its Teacher’s Day and while we all have our own respective teachers to give thanks to for imparting knowledge and tolerating us, there are some other teachers we must also celebrate. These teachers have been a part of our lives from the very beginning, shaped our childhoods and will live on for generations to come. Charles Xavier, X-Men Professor Charles Francis Xavier, popularly known as Professor X, is hands down the best teacher in the past, present and future of the Marvel Universe. He has taught and guided generations of mutants at his Xavier’s School of Gifted Youngsters. He is the founder and the leader of the X-Men and his dream of peaceful co-existence between mutants and humanity has long been the driving force for the X-Men. An immensely powerful telepath and scientific ge...

CBS has released a trailer for it’s upcoming show, Supergirl. And it’s hard to say whether it’s going to be worth a watch or if ‘Super’ will just be a part of the name. Kara Zor-El, the Supergirl, is a 24 year-old coming to grips with her own superpowers. The entire 6 minute, 30 second teaser is a highly contrived affair that is clearly meant to evoke several classic movies and television shows. Time will tell if Supergirl is the heroine we’ve all been looking forward to, or just another mishandled reboot. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
So the trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is out and am sure many of you have watched it by now. I was pretty excited to finally get time to watch this trailer and honestly I was a bit disappointed. I was way more intrigued by the video of Iron Man desperately trying to pick up Thor’s hammer. Although I have to say the villain looks like a total badass! Not saying this trailer was bad or anything but it just didn’t do it for me. Let’s just hope the movie packs in a lot more than this trailer could within it’s time restriction. What did you guys thinks? Please enlighten me with your wisdom in the comments below.
