New Xbox One Controller?
One of Microsoft’s E3 surprises may have been spoiled. The company’s own Xbox Support website reveals a new version of the Xbox One controller that features a 3.5mm headphone port at its base. A line from the description explains that this port will “only available on controllers released after June 2015.” This timing would suggest an announcement at Microsoft’s E3 briefing next month, though this has not been confirmed. Gears of War being remastered for Xbox One
I’m a huge fan of the Gears of War video game franchise, and as much as I wanted to see more games developed, I don’t think it will ever happen. You know what is happening though? A remaster for the Xbox One. The game will include upgraded lighting and texture graphics and will run at 60 frames per second. The cinematics are also being recreated by an animation studio named Plastic Wax. The news was confirmed by Kotaku, who says “three different people playing tonight’s test build tell us that it’s just the first Gears of War. New Trilogy Of ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Games Features India, China & Russia
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles is a new three-part installation of Ubisoft’s long-running action video game franchise. The games will be released incrementally across 2015, with the first game—Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China—releasing April 21st. The new trilogy will be “2.5D” side-scrollers, similar to many of Ubisoft’s other UbiArt small releases—think Child of Light, Valiant Hearts, and so forth. Each game will also feature its own assassin and distinct art style. China has a painterly art-style, for instance, whereas Russia, which releases later this year, will have a “propaganda” art style and India will feature a more vibrant color palette. Master Chief Collection problems prompts a Halo 3 ODST remaster as compensation
A remastered edition of Halo 3: ODST will be offered free of charge to Halo: The Master Chief Collection players as compensation for the Xbox One game’s troubled launch. The ODST remaster will include the game’s campaign, upgraded to 1080p resolution and running at 60fps, but not its Firefight multiplayer mode. “The satisfaction and joy of our fans is absolutely critical to everyone at 343 Industries and we regret the issues and the frustration you have endured. New Screens from Halo 5: Guardians Beta
With the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta in full swing for those who were granted access to it this weekend, took some direct in-game screenshot. From the menu, to the options, characters, customisation, weapons, and multiplayer maps that are available. Everyone this weekend only has access to Week 1 content, so when the beta officially launches over its 3 week period, players in Week 2 and 3 will have access to more content. Xbox One Gears of War is making Good progress
Xbox boss Phil Spencer says he had a “great day” meeting with the team at Black Tusk this week. Microsoft-owned developer Black Tusk Studios is making “massive progress” on the upcoming Gears of War game for Xbox One. That’s according to Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, who this week met with the team, including studio head Rod Fergusson, in Vancouver and had positive things to say about what he saw. Fergusson also seemed happy with the events of yesterday, he wrote after 1 AM today. Microsoft acquired the Gears of War franchise from creator Epic Games in January of this year. Rockstar Games just released this new gameplay footage from their next gen version of Grand Theft Auto V which reveals the new first-person shooter perspective available to next gen adopters. Well, that’s something. Not only will Xbox One and PS4 players get first-person mode, higher resolution, and more wildlife, but they’ll also get cool vehicles, new weapons, new events, and new missions. Assassin’s Creed: Unity trailer stands out
First up during Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference, Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This time, we get a nice montage of game footage, as Arno runs around, above and through buildings, before the trailer cuts to some impressively populated crowds. It’s not the most action-heavy of trailers, but it shows off the setting and tech nicely, and hints at some Assassin-based lore nonsense. Assassin’s Creed: Unity is due out 28 October. A few months back Microsoft had announced the Xbox One in India for a September 23 launch.
