Forza Horizon 2 will let you Race against a Steam Train!

Forza Horizon 2 may contain all sorts of lovely dynamic weather effects and run at 1080p, but that’s small change compared to the fact you can race against a Steam Train in the game. Yes. A train. The ability to race a locomotive comes into play during ‘showcase races’ which is the racer’s version of challenge races. In short, for this particular instance, players will need to get to the finish before the Steam Train. There’s also a video posted below, which shows off loads of speed in an interesting mix of weather patterns off the coast of Italy. Froza Horizon 2 is out on September 30 for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and according to developer Playground Games, the racer doesn’t contain lobbies and players can form their own clubs with up to 1,000 players.   Source : VG247

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has a new trailer

This weekend saw the release of a new trailer for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Halo 2 will receive additional visual treatment for its 10th anniversary, similar to what Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary got for Xbox 360 in 2012. However, the 343 panel at RTX said there are no plans to do the same for Halo 3. Keith David, of course, reprises his role as voice of The Arbiter in the re-release, in which players may tour a remastered Halo: Combat Evolved through Halo 4 — every mission, every difficulty, every game mode unlocked from the start. Additionally, 343 Industries told the RTX audience that the popular “Coagulation” map will be one of the six remastered for multiplayer.

Kinect is your backseat driver in Forza Horizon 2

Forza Horizon 2’s Creative director Ralph Fulton revealed that the game will feature a “digital personal assistant”, ANNA, who has Something To Do with Kinect. Voice controls for steering? Car doorlocks with retina scanners? The ability to detect when you’re zoning out, and activate the autopilot just before you plough into a 15th century chapel? Time will tell. Forza Horizon 2’s massive new world could last you “over 100 hours”. ANNA is Forza Horizon 2’s equivalent of a GPS system, and will allow you to quickly set waypoints on the map and find nearby events. The entire system is integrated with Kinect voice control, so you don’t have to whip out the map and manually do things. That’s the way gaming worked in the past, friends. “It offers op...

The cover art, in addition to the Master Chief, also shows a mysterious second Spartan who would be a completely new male character. Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to Xbox One this year

Master Chief is getting a facelift with an HD collection of his exploits. We’ve learned thatHalo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 are being collected in a Master Chief-focused HD remaster coming from Microsoft. Our sources say that the set will zero in onHalo‘s most famous soldier to refresh audience’s memories ahead of Halo 5: Guardians‘ release, so curiosities like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach likely won’t be a part of the package. The game’s developer is unknown at this point, but considering that Saber Interactive handled Combat Evolved Anniversary and is also working on an unannounced Xbox One project, the team is a likely suspect. Also unclear are plans for digital distribution, resolution and frame-rate (Microsoft bragged that that the n...

Halo to become a TV series?

This is quite a surprise for many as Microsoft is currently in “deep” negotiations to bring the Halo live-action TV series to premium cable channel Showtime according to reports. Microsoft said that they were planning to join forces with Steven Spielberg for the show last year. Spielberg will act as executive producer, and he’ll be working with developer 343 Industries and Amblin Television. According to some reports, the plan is to have each episode air on Showtime first and then on Xbox which will have added interactive material. Apparently, these interactive elements (and Microsoft wanting to be careful with its prized property) caused delays. Variety says the companies are now close to a deal. Source: Gamespot

PS4 nearly outsold Xbox One by 2:1 ratio in US last month

Sony are going on boasting about how well their sales did in the US last month. They outsold the Xbox One by nearly two-to-one. Sony add to this by saying that they managed such figures even though stock of the console was “severely constrained”. New figures from NPD also portray that Sony’s advantage also has a lot to do with the software sales too- new release Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition sold twice as many copies on PS4 than on Xbox One. This doesn’t mean that Xbox One sales have done bad. In fact, figures reveal that the company’s next-gen console is selling 2.29 times faster than the 360. Xbox also sold the most games, keeping in mind that’s both the 360 and the One they’re referring to. Combine, Microsoft’s two consoles were responsi...

Microsoft admit Xbox One install time needs improvement

Since its release, most Xbox One owners have had an issue with the software installation, which is required for all games, is way too long. Microsoft has heard the complaints and themselves feel that it is a concern which should be dealt with, said Xbox executive Phil Spencer. “I agree. We need to get better at chunking our games so the partial install allows game to start sooner,” Spencer said on Twitter. Many gamers were of the opinion that they’d buy more games if installs didn’t take as long as 30 minutes. By “we” we can assume that Spencer is referring to Microsoft Game Studios, which publishes titles like Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 to name a few. Even though all Xbox One games must be installed, you can start playing before the installatio...
