GTA Official Trailer to come out tomorrow

With less than around 3 weeks from a worldwide release, GTA V is probably getting much more publicity than it expected. The games official trailer is scheduled to be released tomorrow. The game has had a couple of trailers out already, but this one is the main thing before the game itself. This game is a global hit and gather a lot of attention on its own. But in the recent past, there have been some ‘mess ups’ that have led to the game being more publicized than intended. Hackers somehow used pre-loaded files from the PS3 version of the game to reveal story details. Sony were extremely apologetic for this foul up. Another incident that took place recently involved Sony Uk’s Twitter account which suggested that the game would also be coming to next-generation systems. The...

Four ideas that Arkham Origins took from Nolan’s Batman Trilogy

After hearing the news that Rocksteady Studios would no longer be bringing us the last installment of the Arkham Series, many gamers around the world were a bit apprehensive about it. Warner Montreal  only had a very small role of developing the ports for the previous games and now were given the mammoth task of literally the whole game. However, after seeing the trailers that they have come out with, we can safely say that faith has been restored. The game stays true to its comic-origins and fast paced action. Looks like Warner Montreal took this task up as a challenge and have really gone through with it and are giving us what we want. From the trailers we can not only see that this is going to be an epic game, but we also see certain aspects that were taken from Nolan’s Batman Tri...

Gamescom 2013 : The three most popular games

How we miss being at Gamescom 2013 at Cologne 🙁  Here we are with the three most popular games among the game journalists are discussing amid the chaos of the world’s biggest gaming event. So here’s the list: 1) TitanFall I am a big fan of Pacific rim and Transformers so it did not come as a surprise that I am eagerly waiting for this action packed game.  The addition of a rocket powered double jump, the ability to run along walls, and of course, the inclusion of personal Titan mechs, all add up to a thrilling and frenetic FPS experience. Oh, and the application of story mechanics to the multiplayer experience is really cleverly handled. 2) Dead Rising 3 Well all of you did love the trailer so did I 🙂 This one looks to be one entertaining game. The Smart Glass integration which...

WB Games Montreal and DC have released their most recent trailer of the Batman Arkham franchise, titled “Nowhere to Run”. This trailer promises gamers to expect virtually the same fast paced fighting that they got in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and also reveals the extremely versatile, ‘Firefly’. We first heard about Firefly when it was rumored that this villain was going to appear in the game’s multiplayer mode which will allow gamers to control a member of Joker or Bane’s gang while battling Batman and Robin.  The villains named included Killer Croc, Firefly, Black Mask, Deadshot and Deathstroke. Here is what Lead game designer Laurent Malville had to say about the process for creating these methods of play: The big thing we realized when working on these play styles was that, if a player could use Assault and go out there guns blazing with no consequences, why would they try the other ones? So we have to challenge each play style equally. With Assault, you can go on all-out attack, buy gadgets and armor, b...

Dead Rising 3 Trailer

‘It’s more or less over now, this whole zombie phase.’ I know it’s a bit old now, like seriously, how many zombie games can you go on making. There are already some really good games out there pertaining to that theme, and not to mention, pretty damn good ones too. Right off the top of my head, the ‘Left for Dead’ Franchise comes to mind. A team of four people making their way through sub-urban and rural landscape, fighting off some really freaky looking zombies. And now the most recent, fan favorite ‘The Last of Us’ is stealing everyone’s attention. With crazy story-lines and some really sick looking zombies, Naughty Dog have done their job. So now you’d probably be thinking, ‘it’s more or less over now, this whole zo...

3 tips to make Arkham City more fun

So Folks! It is not always that you cover a game more than a year after its launch but that’s the beauty of Open World games specially if it has Batman 🙂 So we compiled 3 tips which will enhance your experience as the caped crusader. 1) Get into fistfights.  One of the beauties of development studio Rocksteady’s Batman series is that you can button-mash through it and have a good time, but you can have an even better time fighting through each skirmish with the precision you’d normally reserve for playing a rhythm game. The best way to get that rhythm is to practice, practice. So send Batman down to the streets and make him punch people in the face. Or the ribs. Or the back. Or put his foot in their gut, on their jaw. Etc. Check out this fun video created just for you Guy...

Halo & Gears of war writer moves to amazon

“But I wouldn’t be there unless something cool was brewing.” Writer of Gears of War and Halo: Reach, Eric Nylund has recently disclosed that he has taken up a new job as Director of Narrative Design at Amazon Game Studios. Nylund had earlier left Microsoft Games in July, and had not mentioned anything about a new job until a facebook posting revealed a business card with Amazon Game Studios printed on the front. “I can’t talk about specifics,” Nylund said. “But I wouldn’t be there unless something cool was brewing.” It’s hard to make out where exactly Amazon Game Studio is headed as they do not have games which rank alongside Halo and Gears of War franchise. It’s going to be quite interesting to watch how Nylund takes it from here, whet...

Destiny to be inspired from Borderlands and Far Cry

There’s a hunt about finding the “definitive shooter,” something that many game studios seem to be working on. Bungie hopes to take Borderlands’ brand of open world shooting one step further through connected play. Destiny will allow players to level up using Talent Points, and Bungie acknowledges that it has taken inspiration from fellow open world shooters Far Cry and Borderlands. “We are absolutely doing things that would be familiar if you’ve played any kind of open-world game,” Joe Staten, Creative lead “I mean… Far Cry, even. We would be idiots if we didn’t look at an awesome game like Borderlands and ask, ‘What are they doing well and how can we try to hit that same ball?’ I have never played a game where I have such a great attachment to my gun as I do in Borderlands. “When we look...
