Insomniac’s upcoming Spiderman game is an ambitious project, and is exclusive to the PS4. Insomniac has made some really amazing games over the past years, including the Ratchet & Clank games, Resistance series and Sunset Overdrive. And they seem to be building an even bigger project with the new Spiderman game.
Speaking at the DICE Summit 2017, Bill Rosemann, the Creative Director at Marvel Games talked about working with Insomniac, and their vision for Spiderman as a character.
You may have heard that we’re making a spider-man game with Ted Price’s team at Insomniac and our friends at Sony Interactive Entertainment. The other day we were sitting around talking… Insomniac is only ten minutes away from Marvel Games offices… and we’re eating lunch and talking, asking each other: “hey, when you first get into Spider-Man? And we all realized we had the same story. We discovered him when we were very little. Not only that, we all realized that we all owned the same Spider-Man underoos back in the day.
And it feels like our lives have driven us to this moment. This is our purpose: to show the world why this character is so awesome. To bring this fictional world into the real world. It’s very personal for us. We’re going to focus our life’s journey into this game, to celebrate him with the world.
No release date has yet been announced for the game, and only a brief trailer has been shown. We can’t wait to see what Marvel and Insomniac have in store, and hope that this game does for Spiderman what the Arkham games did for Batman.

Spider-Man is one of my favourite comic book characters. They’ve not done justice to him in the movies or the countless games, ever since Spider-Man 1 on the PSX at least. I really hope Avengers and this game help bring back the charm of Spidey.
