Uncharted 4 Delayed to April 2016

Naughty Dog’s has released some pretty bad news this Christmas, they’re delaying Uncharted 4 to April 26, 2016.

“This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner,” directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley wrote on the PlayStation Blog today.

“However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing).”

This is the second delay for Uncharted 4, which was slated for a fall 2015 release before it was bumped to March, 2016. It’s due to be the final adventure of Nathan Drake and his scruffy buddies.

We feel that this is a good thing, as we’re sure many other gamers will echo. Far too many high profile games are released nowadays that suffer because of trying to meet publisher enforced deadlines. We applaud companies like Naughty Dog and CDProjekt RED for choosing to delay their AAA titles until they are polished to a gleaming shine. Other companies could learn from their examples, especially because we, as gamers, are willing to wait a few more months if it means the game we receive will be a better experience for it.

Till then have a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas 🙂 And we will leave you with our pick of the most disappointing games of 2015.
