The Xbox One X has been making huge waves in the gaming community, partly due to its name, and partly because of its immensely powerful hardware. And while it’s still a few months away from being released, it’s possible that the next iteration of the Xbox console is already being designed.

This comes directly from Jez C, Senior Editor at Windows Central. Jez posted earlier on his Twitter account, saying “The next Xbox is already being designed.”

Now this could be interpreted as Microsoft is looking into the potential future of the console, but apparently, things are a little more concrete than it would seem. Answering the queries to the previous post, Jez also revealed that the next Xbox has a codename too. We don’t know whether it’s going to be a refresh of sorts (like the Xbox One S to the Xbox One) or a completely new generation.
No, it has a code name, too.

Speaking of generations, he also goes on to say that “generations are over, at least for the Xbox. Change resilient games are the standard”. Well, it’s hard to disagree there. Even with the PlayStation, Sony seems to moving towards a generation-neutral approach with the PS4 Pro. But what I’m interested in is this: What is the next Xbox (after the Xbox One X, of course) going to be called? I vote Xbox One X2 (as in X squared). Hehe.
