The Secret Connection b/w ASC and Watch Dogs

It’s been a while now that we’re hearing about whether or not there lies some sort of connection between two of Ubisoft front-liner games. There has been some speculation regarding whether Ubisoft’s upcoming hacker-centric Watch Dogs is set in the same universe as Assassin’s Creed. Watch Dogs is about a hacker who fights the powers of a corrupt city and the company that controls it. And if you think about it, Assassin’s Creed too has hackers fighting one front of a war against a corrupt and controlling corporation. In the video below, Assassin’s Creed 4 game director Ashraf Ismail quite clearly hints at a connection between the two games at this year’s E3 conference in an interview with Elder Greek. Watch Dogs Fan Film

Take a look at this incredibly awesome fan film made by a group called Infectious Designer. The video merely depicts an average day in the life of the Watch Dog’s protagonist. P.S- You will get even more pissed off with the fact that this game is delayed till March next year

Assassin’s Creed series might never take place in present day

Following the release of their tribute to the pirate life, a handful of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag developers took to Reddit and addressed a few burning questions from fans. They avoided addressing where Ubisoft would take the series post-Black Flag, but that didn’t stop them from sharing where they thought the series wasn’t going. Lead Writer Darby McDevitt had a hard time believing Ubisoft would set an entire AC game in the present. “I doubt we would do a modern day AC,” he writes. “There are just too many mechanics we would have to develop to make it believable… vehicles, plausible modern cities, a huge array of ranged weapons, etc. The modern day will most likely remain as a ‘context’ for all future games, something to tie them all together.” McDevitt also ...

Watch Dogs, The Crew to come out in 2014

Ubisoft had announced that two of their top line games- Watch Dogs and The Crew have been delayed. Both these games were scheduled to release in the current fiscal year (which ends on March 31, 2014) but not will be released in the following fiscal year instead. Ubisoft have said that it expects Watch Dogs to come out sometime in the first quarter of its fiscal year (between April 1 and June 30, 2014) and The Crew to be released in the second quarter (between July 1 and September 30, 2014). Ubisoft posted the following statement from the Watch Dogs development team on theUbisoft Blog: “Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decisio...

Watch Dogs PC specifications leaked

The PC specifications for Ubisoft’s upcoming open world game Watch Dogs were accidentally revealed on the Uplay store, declaring the title’s PC edition will only support 64-bit operating systems. Since this little mix up, the Uplay page has since been pulled by Ubisoft; however, saved details from the site show its full specifications, starting from minimum requirements to recommended and the slightly more taxing “Ultra” specifications. “For Watch Dogs‘ minimum specs, players will require a DirectX 11 GPU with at least 1GB of VRAM, along with a quad core CPU and at least 4GB of RAM. Example GPUs include NVidia GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770, and an Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 or AMD Phenom X4 9750.” “Users aiming to reach the game’s recommend...

Watch Dogs protagonist inspired by Dexter

Ubisoft senior producer Dominic Guay confessed that  protagonist in Watch dogs is “not necessarily a good guy,” but is someone gamers can relate to. Aiden Pearce, the main protagonist in Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world action game Watch Dogs, is said to have shades of grey. Senior producer Dominic Guay explained in a new ZoomIn Games video interview that Ubisoft was inspired by Dexter from Showtime’s Dexter. “The way we designed him is that he would not necessarily be a good guy or a bad guy,” Guay said. “So we’re inspired by characters like Dexter, where the main character is not necessarily a good guy, but he’s a person with flaws, with qualities; someone we can relate to and that you will bond with even though he does sometimes things ...

Ubisoft asking fans which actor should play Aiden in Watch Dogs movie

We are starting to see a very interesting trend here in terms of gaming companies reaching out to its fans and allowing them to make rather important decisions. Just a little over a month we saw 2K Sports doing this same thing with WWE2K14’s cover. And now Ubisoft is taking that extra step in ensuring that the fans get what they want. The online poll asks the fans which actor they would want to see play the role of Aiden  Pearce in the upcoming Watch Dogs Movie.  The list includes Hollywood action movie stars like Tobey Maguire, Henry Cavill, Ryan Gosling, Paul Walker, Tom Cruise, Clive Owen, Robert Downey Jr., Andrew Garfield, Brad Pitt, and Edward Norton. However, it is not absolutely certain what Ubisoft will do with these polls, unlike 2K Sports where in they actually chose a fan...
