Ubisoft on Half LIfe 3– “No Idea When it Will Be Out”

Let us take a moment to commend those Half Life 3 supporters that have literally had to wait a lifetime and probably more at this rate. They just don’t seem to want to give up at all–even though chances are that the game may not even come out in their lifetime. Some supporters took to the official Watch Dogs Facebook page asking when Half Life 3 will be out….no seriously, they did! It does sound pretty funny but you can feel for those guys who want nothing more than a few answers. I mean it has been quite a while, and now Ubisoft is part-taking in the fun by simply replying “we have no idea when Half Life 3 will be out. If you find out, let us know.” Really loved how they’ve taken everything in their stride! What do you’ll think is the future to this game, wil...

Ubisoft to make more Open-World Games because they feel “gamers want more freedom”

In a recent interview, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told why the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry publisher is working on more open-world games. Guillemot says that games like Watch Dogs, The Crew, Far Cry 4 or The Division do appeal to gamers much more allow a certain level of freedom among players because they allow players a more free-form experience instead of a linear and directed one. “We think that gamers want more freedom,” Guillemot said. “They also want games that they can play for quite a while, because there are less games now. The open-world genre gives us the possibility to offer different gamers different types of experiences. We think they are better adapted to the diversity of gamers that are in the market at the moment.”   Guillemot went on to say t...

Title for “Best-Selling New Franchise” goes to Watch Dogs

Many saw this coming and they were right as Ubisoft worked out the numbers and announced that their latest title set a record for the best new franchise launch in history with 4 million in sell-through in week one. And it goes without saying that Watch Dogs is Ubisoft’s best selling launch ever which increases the chances of a sequel. “With such strong sales momentum and positive feedback from gamers, Watch Dogs has positioned itself as the must-have game of the moment” said Ubisoft’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Tony Key. “We’re really proud of this achievement, and are confident that the Watch Dogs brand has a promising future.”   In hindsight, Ubisofts delay with Watch Dogs was perhaps a good decision, as it’s good news not only for Ubisoft but for the indust...

Bollywood movie blatantly copying Watch Dogs?

As much as we Indians don’t like to hear this, but its nothing shocking when we see Bollywood copying certain ideas, themes etc from the western world and incorporating it into their films. Its just that sometimes its done subtly and other times its not even made to look like an original idea. There are many debates and controversies when it comes to topics like this, but of late we’ve seen that a new Bollywood movie, 18.11 is quite evidently copying the Watch Dogs poster. The trailer above doesn’t really look like the game at all (I bet they wished it did!) but that whole idea of an “extraordinary software,” can’t help but bring that notion of hacking which is quite central to Watch Dogs’ theme.

Watch Dogs PS4 ‘Leaked’ Animated GIFs Show Amazing Gameplay

A lucky gamer  has already got his hands full with Watch Dogs on the PS4, and he is sharing his videos online. Thanks to this leaker, we can see how Watch Dogs looks on the PS4, and determine it on our own if it is worthy to be called a “downgrade” or not. Earlier this week, it was revealed that the game was running at a resolution of 900p on the PS4 and 792p on the Xbox One, both of them are running it at 30 fps. Watch Dogs is officially set to launch on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on May 27th. It will also be released on the Wii U at a later date in 2014. What do you think about this new footage? Take a look and let us know in the comments below.

Ubisoft confirms Watch Dogs won’t hit 1080p on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One

A few days back, gamers were led to believe that Watch Dogs on PlayStation 4 would run at 1080p resolution and 60 frames-per-second. That revelation came by way of Sony’s description of the game at the PlayStation website. But if you click that link now, you’ll find no such description—the claim was removed soon after it began getting press. Now Ubisoft has revealed the actual resolution for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in a blog post at the Ubisoft blog.   The game also looks great on both generations of consoles,” the post reads. “On new-gen systems the game will run at 900p on PS4 and 792p on Xbox One, at 30 frames-per-second on both consoles.”   The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are both pack quite a punch, but so far, many third-party games have ended up running better on Son...

Watch Dogs: latest trailer has hidden Assassin’s Creed & Far Cry easter eggs

The folks behind our favorite games love hiding little Easter eggs in their titles, and apparentlyWatch_Dogs‘ developers do as well, as showcased in the lovely character trailer released yesterday. If you check out the frame showcased above, you’ll see that T-Bone has quite a few games on his desk. Of course the only two that are recognizable are Assassin’s Creed II (which is still my personal favorite of the series, incidentally) and Far Cry 3. As a funny note, they appear to be pirated copies, as can be easily noticed by the fact that they’re portrayed in normal CD cases and not in the DVD cases games are usually sold into. Bad, bad T-Bone… After all, we’re talking about hackers, so that’s not really surprising. Later Animation Director Colin Graham just told me that those are actually l...

Watch Dogs sequel eBook picks up where game left off

(UPDATE) Ubisoft has announced that the Watch Dogs story-line will continue on in eBook novel called //n/Dark Clouds by John Shirley which also comes out on the 27th of May. Authored by John Shirley, the novel revives the story from the end of the game. “It’s a techno-thriller that follows Mick Wolfe, an an ex-military character who gets caught in Chicago’s hyper connected and violent underground. It will feature both new and known characters from Watch Dogs.” Shirley is an accredited writer with over 30 books and short stories credited to his name, which include some game, comic book, and movie novelizations. He has also written several books related to cyberpunk genre, which is why we think he’d do this franchise justice.”Ubisoft says that //n/Dark Clouds is the f...

The Division dev think delaying Watch Dogs was a smart move

Primary studio in charge of the highly anticipated PS4 and Xbox One shooter The Division, Ubisoft studio has tagged the decision to delay the release of Watch Dogs to May 2014 as a “tremendously important” one. “It’s tremendously important for us as a developer studio, to know that the owner and the publisher are ready to take that hit, and [delaying Watch Dogs] ] was a massive hit. I think their shares fell 25 per cent on the day it was announced it was being delayed,” said Massive Entertainment boss David Polfeldt to Examiner. “It takes so much courage to live through that day and still think that was a good decision. So for us in the development , that’s an important message that ultimately the management will back up the goals that we have, whi...
