Turtle Rock Says Goodbye To Evolve

Evolve, the team based shooter released in 2015 received a mixed response from the fans, and went free to play this year in the form of Evolve: Stage 2. Now, it seems that the future of the game is unknown as the devs, Turtle Rock announced that “unfortunately today is the last day that Turtle Rock Studios can work on Evolve”. The rest of the announcement is pretty vague, and doesn’t provide any information about whether the game is being shut down or sold or being handed to someone else. Neither does it go into the depth regarding the reason behind the devs’ leaving the game. New Patch For Evolve Announced

Developer Turtle Rock Studios has revealed that they plan to bring out a new, balance oriented patch for their monster-hunting game Evolve. Another amend is that DPS for Hyde’s Toxic Grenade has been increased by 50 percent. This was done to make it a more effective area of denial weapon while simultaneously making it “less spammy.” The full Evolve 1.3 Patch Notes, courtesy of Turtle Rock, are below.   Evolve 1.3...

Kraken – Evolve’s New Monster

Evolve has been generating right noises from the initial announcements. One thing that which seemed amiss was the Goliath monster, which essentially seemed like a larger version of the Tank from Left 4 Dead. It’s a natural point of inspiration, given that Turtle Rock Studios teamed up with Valve to develop that game, and therefore a good starting point, but it just wasn’t distinct enough, and quite a tame design for a beast. Thankfully, with the announcement of a new monster in the form of the Kraken, Turtle Rock has managed to create something quite unique and very exciting. It’s not an entirely new idea for a creature – it’s a Lovecraftian beast, with strong ties to Cthulu – but it’s something that hasn’t really been done in this medium before, and shows that they’re going beyond standar...
