Appearing first at the Spike Video Game Awards, the Geof Keighley produced video game accolades show has taken on many different iterations. Now it exists as an online streaming only live event dubbed simply The Game Awards, and without any of the “riff raff,” the hope is that the winners will all be fitting releases. This year, competition was plenty heated between a handful of games, many of which were years in the making. Fallout 4 was the clear favorite to win any and every award heading into the end of 2015, but games like The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5 were not going to go out quietly. And in the end, it wasn’t Bethesda and Fallout 4, but rather CD Projekt Red and The Witcher 3 that came away the big winners. The ambitious RPG experience clearly took the judges by storm and was...
This week’s major updated games are: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman Arkham Knight. Batman Arkham Knight‘s PC version is still not fixed, and after delaying the Batgirl DLC, WB has announced that the latest patch for the game is coming on July 27th. No fixes have been detailed yet, but prepare for one massive patch notes section this time. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt got a patch this week, the Patch 1.07, and it adds quite a bit, but it also reportedly causes performance slowdowns in consoles. CDPR is already calling it the “Largest patch for the game yet”. The patch is 7.3 GBs on consoles and around 2.2 GBs on the PC. The PC version is just a prep patch and apparently doesn’t do much, with the proper patch arriving soon. You can find a (rather too complete f...

Over my 10-plus years at NVIDIA, I’ve seen, worked with, and played countless games. Few stand out to me as deserving of the term “epic.” The Witcher: Wild Hunt is one of those titles. Developer CD Projekt Red has provided gamers with an epic story, an epic adventure, and epic graphics. The untamed world of this action-adventure game is a graphics showcase, with stunning vistas and detailed characters. So, it’s exciting to me that we’re offering it to GeForce gamers as part of our new “Undeniably Epic” bundle. Available now for a limited time, customers who buy select GeForce GTX 980, 970, and 960 graphics cards, or a GTX 970M or above notebook, will get a code for a copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You’re going to want to experience this game at its best. NVIDIA and CD Projekt Red...
CD Projekt Red was at PAX East over the weekend to display some of the new gameplay from the greatly anticipated role-playing game The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. The video above is new gameplay footage which is narrated by senior level designer Peter Gelencser, the video shows protagonist Geralt of Rivia picking up a quest from an NPC in a small village, then exploring the open world in search of a lost caravan. The area that is shown in the video is called No Man’s Land, and is one of the giant regions available for exploration in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Almost at the end of the video you also get to see Geralt fight a Royal Wyvern by applying oils to his sword, using magic spells, and other signature gameplay mechanics from the Witcher series. The Witcher 3 launches May 19 for Xb...
Thanks to CD Projekt RED’s global preview events the other day, we have seen a lot of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and now Eurogamer Portugal has posted nearly 15 minutes of PC gameplay at a beautiful 1080p setting. Leaving aside the combat, we also witness conversations and travelling in the game. Altought it was confirmed that enemies will not scale with the player in The Witcher 3, the developer has created a world which responds to events and decisions made by the players. And the word is that the PS4 version will be comparable to the ‘high’ PC graphics setting. The Witcher 3 comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in May following two delays and will offer players 16 free DLCs. So what do you think of the game so far?
The minimum and recommended PC requirements for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are on the higher end of things, CD Projekt RED announced via Twitter today. Minimum specs include an Intel i5 processor, 6GB RAM, DX11 and 40GB hard drive space. Recommended specs include an i7 processor, 8GB RAM, DX11 and 40GB hard drive space. See the full requirements in the below press release. The Witcher series has set a high standard for itself, in terms of graphics and massiveness. In December, CD Projekt RED delayed The Witcher 3 from a February launch to May 19, 2015, citing many in-game details that required further completion and tweaking. “When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level th...
CD Projekt Red had delayed their game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by about three months from February 2015 to May 2015. It took YouTuber Nick McDonalds nearly two months to recreate the game’s 2013 trailer using MS Paint. How freaking awesome is that? And also how much time did this guy have? The Witcher 3 is promising to be a great game. There are actually so many out there right now. Nick’s take on this game is pretty fresh, unique and made me crack up. This little masterpiece is made up of 30 different compositions, each taking Nick around 55 minutes to complete (20 minutes drawing, 35 minutes compositing). He took the help of After Effects for the compositing and character animation. You need to watch the two trailers side by side to know how much work went into Nick’s trail...
The Witcher 3 release date has been further delayed, roughly about seven months after its developer promised the title’s deadlines would not be pushed back any further. CD Projekt Red has set the game’s launch for the 19th of May 2015. High ambitions for the next-gen title were the main reasons that were cited for its delay. “The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected,” said the studio in a statement. Here is an open letter to the fans. Dear Gamers, May 19th, 2015. Ever since we started working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we knew it would be an ambitious game. We wanted, and still aim, to give you an incredible experience, an e...
