PC gaming is far from dead. The latest figures from Steam, the digital storefront and gaming platform run by Valve, the prolific developer behind titles such as Half-Life 2, Portal and Left for Dead, soared past 8 million concurrent users over the weekend. To emphasize, that means over 8 million people – the same as Israel’s population – were logged in and using the service at the same time. The previous high recorded on Steam was 7.5 million concurrent users back in December. This weekend we noticed they peaked to 8,020,744 concurrent users, being the final “encore” day of the summer sale. We’re interested to hear peoples view on what they think about Steam’s growth to date, and what events / games could push this further. For reference, here are the yearly figures...

More than 80 Ubisoft titles have been reduced in a huge Steam sale, which is running from now until 24th February. Cut-price games include downloadable gems such as Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes , Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Rayman Origins . The first two Assassin’s Creed games are also available, while more recent entries Brotherhood, Revelations and AC3. Michel Ancel’s cult classic Beyond Good & Evil is also currently reduced. Buy it now and it might improve the chances of a sequel (maybe). Other titles on sale include I Am Alive, From Dust, Rocksmith and a number of Prince of Persia games. Source: Eurogamer
The silent assassin Agent 47 completed his most stealthy operation to date, launching Hitman Contracts on Steam for $7 or just Rs 500, Now that is a steal literally 😉 As the first batch of Steam reviews indicated, the game initially launched without any of the soundtrack and voice work. Hitman’s verified Twitter account confirmed the issue and said that it would be fixed in an “hour or two tops.” Now the most recent Steam reviews indicate that the issue has been resolved. The problem might have had something to do with the licensing of a song that plays during the Rendezvous in Rotterdam level. It’s...
