Thirteen years ago one of the best games for the PlayStation 2 was released. It was a magnificent game that pushed the PlayStation 2 to its absolute limits in terms of graphical fidelity. Shadow of the Colossus has gone down as a technical marvel but also as one of the best games of that generation. Thirteen years later, Bluepoint games have brought to the current generation of consoles one of the best remakes to have ever come out. The Shadow of the Colossus Remake is a game that has been completely remade from the ground up to provide the best experience that a player can get. Shadow of the Colossus features sprawling landscapes and humongous Colossi that even on PS2 graphics were absolutely breathtaking. With the remake, it has been taken to the next level. The world has been recreated ...
Though we have repeatedly confirmed that Shadow of the Colossus on PS4 is a full, ground up remake of the all-time classic, it is a fact that is harder to communicate via text or stills. To make it more clear, we have created a comparison video, which you can watch above, that shows the amount of work that has gone into this project to fully leverage the horsepower of modern gaming consoles. For the first time, we are also happy to confirm that PlayStation 4 Pro users will benefit from two play options: • Cinematic: Emphasizes image quality, and for owners of compatible 4K HDR displays, boasts a beautiful dynamic 4K image targeting 30 fps • Performance: Delivers an extremely fluid frame rate targeting 60 fps Shadow of the Colossus has never looked this good, or moved with this much fluidit...
Shadow of the Colossus for PS4 Launches February 6, Watch the Opening In case you missed it, we just debuted new footage of Shadow of the Colossus for PS4 as part of the PlayStation press conference at Paris Games Week. We are happy to confirm that Shadow of the Colossus for PlayStation 4 will launch on February 6, 2018 with an MSRP of $39.99. As we stressed during our E3 2017 unveil, Shadow of the Colossus on PS4 is not a port or remaster. The beloved all-time classic has been completely rebuilt by the highly regarded team at Bluepoint Games. They are no stranger when it comes to reintroducing gems of PlayStation’s past for new generations of gamers to experience; their reputation for faithful, beautiful restorations precedes them. Still, Shadow of the Colossus will be their largest proje...
Experience the wonder and majesty of one of the most acclaimed and beloved video games of all time, now on PS4 and PS4 Pro. Helmed by Bluepoint Games, the emotion, intensity and beauty of Fumito Ueda’s original adventure has been given a staggering makeover. With improved visuals and enhanced performance, every epic moment is more breathtaking and memorable than ever before. Set on a quest to bring a girl back to life, your task is to bring down 16 gigantic beasts. Armed with only your wits, a magical sword and a bow, venture out into expansive landscapes on the back of your trusty steed and seek out each Colossus. But be warned – while each giant has a specific weakness, finding and exploiting it will be far from simple. A thrilling mixture of exploration, platforming, puzzle-solving and ...
Now that all the press conferences are over and most of the announcements and showcasing is done, let’s take a look at games that I found were the best at E3 2017, a kind of mediocre one all things considered. Battlefront 2 EA seems to have learned from their mistakes from Battlefront. They’ve added a single player story mode, soldier classes, and all eras are now playable. They’ve also stated that there will be now Season Pass as all the DLC for this game will be free. Beyond Good and Evil 2 When the director of the game comes on stage and is almost in tears, you know how much it means to him. The cult classic is finally getting a 2nd game but it’s actually a prequel. However that does not matter and people are hype none the less. Shadow of the Colossus Now, you m...
The Press Conference I was most looking forward to personally and I was not disappointed. With Spider-Man, Days Gone, God of War and some interesting surprises you might say it made up for the lack of The Last of Us 2. Here are the highlights of the conference with some great games to look forward top. Days Gone We finally got an extended look at Days Gone and it looks like a lot fun. Riding your bike around, using a sort of detective vision, setting up traps, using the horde to your advantage and also fighting a BEAR ZOMBIE. God of War Kratos is back and he is still an absolute badass. We’re given a little more information about the story of the game and a glimpse at the combat which seems to be improved but still is similar to the core combat mechanics. The game visually looks godl...
