Death Stranding Gets A New Trailer At The Game Awards

Hideo Kojima, in addition to being honoured with the Industry Icon Award at the Game Awards, also showcased a new trailer for his upcoming game, Death Stranding. The game is still shrouded in mystery, and the trailer doesn’t do anything to shed some light on it. Guillermo Del Toro, the director who has worked previously with Kojima on the cancelled title Silent Hill, features in a dystopian city, clutching a device with a baby inside it, similar to the one we saw in the E3 trailer. The game will also star Mads Mikkelsen of Hannibal fame along with The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus. The footage is recorded off a PlayStation 4 Pro. At this weekend’s PlayStation Experience, Kojima will talk about more details regarding the game. You can watch the trailer below. Register with ...

True Visionaries In The Gaming Industry (Pt.1)

Making a video game isn’t a one man job, well at least making a good one isn’t. Everybody from the director all the way down to game testers, play a crucial role in determining how good or bad the game will turn out. All these people work together toward a common goal, which is to make a game that leaves an impression on gamers across the world, achieving success in both critical acclaim and sales. However, there usually is one person who leads the development of a game or of the industry in general. Their vision is what pushes the rest to work toward a goal. It’s hard to come up with a brilliant idea, but it’s harder to convince others of the same. It takes a lot of courage and belief in an idea for one to rise above the rest and see that idea through till its comp...

Kojima Shares Progress On Death Stranding, Compiling 30k Shots In One Day

While no official release date for Kojima’s next project, Death Stranding has been confirmed, rumor has it that the game already has a set release date it is targeting for itself. In any case, fans cannot seem to wait to get their hands on the game, and we wonder what Kojima Productions plans to bring to us outside the Metal Gear world. But you can rest assured that it is indeed a work in progress. Hideo Kojima shared multiple photos on Twitter, sharing the progress and confirming that the people are at it in earnest. Apparently, they compiled about 30,000 shots in a single day, and oh, Mads Mikkelsen from Hannibal also made an appearance. That’s cool, isn’t it? It also leads us to believe that Mikkelsen may be making a contribution to the game, by either lending his voic...

Kojima Trolls Fans with PT and Metal Gear Solid V Chapter 3

In addition to making immersive and story driven games, Hideo Kojima loves playing mind games with his fans and setting up elaborate ruses. Add to that the fact that fans have been quite disappointed lately due to, let’s call it closure with some of his recent work – the cancelled, much awaited horror themed PT, or the long fabled chapter 3 in Metal Gear Solid V – and it won’t be surprising to know that Kojima has played yet another prank on the gaming community. Fans have always had a tendency to read into things, especially when it’s regarding Kojima, but hey, it’s not like the guy doesn’t fuel the fire. Take a look at the tweet below for instance. 本日の小島監督。 Hideo Kojima today. pic.twitter.com/4pOSO6LiWi — Ayako (Touchy!) (@Kaizerkunkun) August 1,...

Kojima Production’s Mascot Getting A Line Of Action Figures

Nothing says extravagant like Hideo Kojima. If you don’t believe us, check this out: Ludens, the space explorer who represents Kojima Productions’ spirit, is getting his own collection of action figures. And no, this has absolutely nothing to do with with the much awaited Death Stranding, it’s nothing but the logo for Kojima Productions. The toys are being made by three companies: the Good Smile Company who is making a cute Nendoroid version; Max Factor who is doing a 1:12 scale Figma replica while 1000Toys is in the process of making an expensive looking 1:6 scale action figure, complete with LED lights. All of these look pretty cool if you ask us. Also, featured on San Diego Comic Con was Kojima Productions’ own “logo movie”, which will supposed to pla...

Ludens, The Icon Of Kojima Productions

After his departure from Konami, Hideo Kojima has set up his own production studio, named Kojima Productions. While very few is yet known about the game that he is working on, and only a logo was available to take guesses at, Kojima has now revealed Ludence/Ludens, the mascot of the new studio, and said that it is the icon for Kojima Productions. This is his quote as available on Twitter: “LUDENS, the icon of Kojima Productions. We’ll deliver THE NEW PLAY in THE NEW FUTURE with the cutting-edge equipment, technology, & the frontier spirit. The gear he’s wearing is the extra-vehicular activity(EVA) creative suit.” This could be indicative of his upcoming game as well, though we might have wait to have any concrete details. All we know so far is that it’s a new franchise and a Play...

Hideo Kojima Might Work With Norman Reedus Soon

Ever since it was announced that Guillermo del Toro would be appearing with Hideo Kojima at the 2016 DICE Summit, fans have been anticipating some hints as to what Kojima’s first post-Konami game will be. Kojima hasn’t revealed many concrete details about the game just yet, but it is certainly a possibility that whatever it is will star The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, who was previously working with Kojima and del Toro on the ill-fated Silent Hills. Kojima recently met with Reedus to discuss the newly reborn Kojima Productions. The details of that meeting are not public knowledge, but one has to imagine that it involved the two of them at the very least discussing ideas for a potential video game project to work on together. While that’s just speculation at this point, comments Kojim...

Easter Egg in Ground Zeroes Sheds Light on Kojima-Konami Split

GamesRadar‘s Leon Hurley discovered an Easter egg in the PS3/4 (timed) exclusive mission Déjà Vu, and it’s rather unsettling: in it, you erase games directed by Kojima himself with your UV light (and only those: games not directed by him are unaffected) and then a message, seemingly by Kojima himself, plays. You can see a somewhat condensed run-through of the easter egg bit below: (note the classic Snake model from Metal Gear Solid) (video courtesy of timesplitter88)   This puts a rather interesting take on the whole Kojima-Konami split, mainly that Kojima knew that it’s going to get ugly and tried to get the word out. The fact that it was in the Déjà Vu mission, which was marketed to fans of the franchise (it was released on PS3/4 first and was a timed exclusive to ...

Silent Hills Game Cancelled

This news is probably going to be scarier than the game would have been itself (My gosh I’m so smart..I know you laughed Anisha!) The much anticipated Silent Hills, is never going to see a release date. The game was to be a collaboration of Metal Gear Solid’s Hideo Kojima and director Guillermo del Toro and was to feature The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus as the game’s lead. del Toro was the one who brought the world this bad news, telling audiences at a San Francisco Film Society event that the project was not going to continue. Apparently his exact words were “It’s not gonna happen and it breaks my greasy heart.” Reedus followed up with a tweet, “Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it’ll come back around...

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Pictures Showcase difference Between Night and Day

Hideo Kojima is working on finishing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and he’s also posting regular updates, giving us small glimpses on what the game looks like. He posted some updates on Twitter two different pictures showing a bloodied snake during the day and at night: Having wounds all over the body, with blood. Night had begun after some break. Now all we need is a release date. Personally, I’m pretty confident that this one has the potential to be special since the prequel was so good.
