Five Things We Love About The OnePlus 5T

The launch of OnePlus 5T in November was a little unexpected for everyone, considering that the company had released the OnePlus 5 just a few months before. Though in India you can still find the OnePlus 5 to buy, outside the 5T is replacing the predecessor completely. So, what’s new? Take everything you loved about the OnePlus 5, and add to that smaller bezels, an 18:9 display and a (very) slightly improved secondary camera. The OnePlus 5T immediately became my favourite phone from 2017 and I actually ended up buying the Star Wars Edition. Not only is it one of the best phones available in the market specs-wise, the competitive pricing just makes it irresistible. Here are the five things we love the most about this phone: 1. Design The OnePlus 5T follows the same curved body design ...

Review: NVIDIA GTX 1070Ti Founder’s Edition

Much to everyone’s surprise, NVIDIA recently decided to treat the GTX 1070 with the “Ti” edition. It wasn’t expected as the only high card to get a Ti version in the past has been the 980Ti, but with the 10-series we now have a GTX 1080Ti and the GTX 1070Ti. We have already reviewed the GTX 1080Ti in earlier, so today we test the 1070Ti. CUDA Cores 2432 Base Clock 1607 Boost Clock 1683 VRAM 8GB GDDR5 TDP 180W The GTX 1070Ti brings raises the roof on the CUDA core count, featuring 2432 cores compared to the 1070’s 1920 cores. The GTX 1080 on the other hand, has 2560 CUDA cores. The card looks the same as any other GTX 10-series Founder’s Edition card, so there’s not much to talk about on the design front. It uses the conventional vapour chamber cool...

Manas’ Top 20 Favorite Video Games Of 2017 (And Then Some..)

Looking back, I am surprised at how many games I was able to play and complete this year, and also how many of them were actually great. Sure, it’s easy to pick holes in even the best of them, but 2017 was truly one of the best years in Video Game history. I tried to trim list list down to 10, but I just couldn’t bring myself to cut down on the games I had an absolute blast with. Even after removing games like Cryptark, Sniper Elite 4 and Endless Space 2 (which I am managing to subtly sneak in by mentioning them here), the list just wouldn’t go below 25. So I played around with the list, bunched games together and threw some in the honorable mentions. Screw it, these are great games, they need to be on this list. Play them, if you haven’t already! Yakuza Zero Come f...

Review: HyperX Alloy Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Not so long ago, we reviewed the HyperX Alloy FPS mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches. While the keyboard was impressive, it did lack in a few areas. Today we check out the HyperX Alloy Elite, which keeps all the great features of the Alloy and then some. Let’s dive right in, shall we? The HyperX Alloy Elite has the same frameless, compact design like that of the Alloy FPS, but it adds dedicated media buttons and backlight controls. You can change the pattern of backlight or switch it on/off at the press of a button, and there are separate play, pause, next and back buttons along with a handy volume slider. Between the top panel and the keys is a light bar which looks incredible, providing the entire keyboard with quite a classy look. There’s also a removable palm ...

Review: HyperX Pulsefire FPS Gaming Mouse

Recently, we took a look at HyperX’s debut keyboard (and then another one). The company may be known more for headsets and memory sticks, but we were quite impressed their no-nonsense approach towards gaming keyboards. Today we have with us their debut gaming mouse, the Pulsefire FPS. Let’s find out how it fares, shall we? At the first glance, you’ll find that the HyperX Pulsefire FPS bears a close resemblance to Razer’s DeathAdder. Once you get close, there are some differences, but they look more or less similar. It’s a simple mouse with the usual set of buttons; the left click, right click, mouse wheel, two thumb buttons on the side and one just behind the mouse wheel to switch DPI between presets. On both sides you can find rubber grips with a cross textur...

Why The PlayStation 4 Does Not Have Backward Compatibility?

The Xbox and the PlayStation have been head to head with each other since their dawn. Yet the PlayStation 4 does not offer backwards compatibility, unlike the Xbox One. It’s also worth mentioning that the PlayStation has a much wider array of memorable games on its former consoles as compared to the Xbox. The PS, PS2, PS3 and PS4 run on completely different architecture. The PS4 would need hardware modifications to run PS, PS2 and PS3 games, especially over a disc. Even if Sony decides to inculcate backwards compatibility, it would take a tremendous investment and the feature would be available on the new consoles only. Thus, it is not observed as a profitable move by Sony. Instead, they’re investing this money in making new games, hence a number of quality exclusives. However,...

Call Of Duty’s Microtransations are Just As Bad, But Activision Seems To Be Getting Away With It

It has been months since EA’s Battlefront 2 released and it’s still being bashed about the countless microtransactions. It is only right to since they made the microtransactions an integral feature rather than an add-on. On the other hand, there is Call of Duty World War 2, which also uses microtransactions. Although Call of Duty World War 2 wasn’t very well received by critics, it was cherished by players who were tired of the franchise’s repetitiveness. The game gives you 100 COD points as Payroll and players can earn more through various actions in game. However, players may also buy more COD points using real currency and I noted that 200 points could be purchased for $1.99. So why isn’t it criticized as Battlefront 2 was? The bold and brief answer to this question ar...
