The Best Of Steam Summer Sale 2016: …It’s Something

Steam Summer “Picnic” Sale is here for 2016, and we have to say, it’s a little disappointing. With no flash sales and no daily deals, the sense of discovery, the anticipation that caused you to make those impulse purchases are gone. Also, the titles are not expected to go any cheaper than they are right now, so it will be somewhat tougher to hoard up all those games we won’t play for the next 2 years. Still, Lord Gaben hasn’t forsaken us completely, and something good will come out of this. You no longer have to worry about missing the perfect deal for you, because most of the games will remain on sale till July 4th. So anyone who wants to make sure that they don’t end up spending too much (like that’s ever gonna happen), can browse at their leisur...

The Division “Held Back” On PC Due To Consoles

PC gamers have again been given the short end of the stick, or as is in this case, the lower end of textures and pixels, all because their console counterparts (more like underlings) were not up to the task. While gamers have often cried out about cross-platform triple-A games having its graphics “dumbed down” for consoles, the PC version’s fidelity apparently lowered to maintain some kind of parity, but it’s not often you get confirmation of this actually happening. In a recent interview with YouTubers Team Epiphany, a Ubisoft developer spoke to them about the visuals of the game, and addresses the issue of downgrade, and if it was to maintain parity with consoles. “It is definitely a [factor],” says the nameless Ubisoft developer. “But one good t...

The interview is available on Team Epiphany’s YouTube channel, recorded during The Division New York Event. The developer said, “It’s actually great that we’ve given the option to disable certain lighting aspects to improve frame rate in the console version, which I don’t know if any other game does that. So if you want to choose frame rate over, like, visuals you can if you want.” This will surely raise some concerns among console gamers.
