To celebrate the start of the new year, we at League of Extraordinary Gamers in association with Make a Difference (a charitable organization), have decided to host and organize a Dota 2 tournament. All the proceeds will go to charity. Make A Difference is a charitable non-governmental organization that focuses on helping under privileged children of the nation by providing them with amenities and resources needed for their education and well-being. The total prize pool of the event is INR 20,000. The next big update to Dota 2 will introduce ranked matchmaking features to the game. Valve said on its official blog the mode is “aimed at experienced players who want to play in a more competitive environment and know their matchmaking rating (MMR).” As of now, each player only has an invisible MMR. To access ranked matchmaking, Valve says you’ll have to play around 150 games – a significant time investment considering games can easily last 45 minutes or longer. If you want to play ranked games with friends, they’ll need to have access to ranked matchmaking as well.
