Darkwood is set in a fictional universe, in 1987. Strange trees have overgrown everywhere, and within it strange creatures have taken shelter. You need to make your way out of the woods, and along the way you will encounter some of the most horrifying and surreal visual imagery you have ever seen in a video game. Game Dev Put Their Game On Torrents, Wants To Destroy The “Cancer Leeching Off The Industry”

While most game developers are usually resentful when it comes to Piracy and Torrents, Acid Wizard Studios have an entirely different approach, and it’s one that actually benefits the industry. Darkwood is an absolutely fantastic horror game with no jump scares, but tons of moody atmosphere and tense gameplay. We ourselves have played it and got really freaked out by it. But if you can’t afford the game right now, here’s what the developers have to say: We’ve also been flooded by emails! There’s more of them than we are able to reply to, actually. The sad thing is, that a lot of those are scam emails. You know, when people claim to be a youtuber or blogger and ask for a Steam key. That key then gets sold through a shady platform. To be honest, we’re fed ...

Darkwood Uploaded to Pirate Bay By The Creators

The top down horror game Darkwood was released recently by a team of devs who were afraid to play horror games because of jump scares and such, so they made their own game. The game has caught a lot of attention from critics and players alike because of how different it is but still manages to be a great horror game. The game costs $15/£12/€14/Rs479 which is quite cheap honestly. But, if you’re low on funds or simply cannot afford the game but still want to play it, the game is available on Pirate Bay. The creators themselves uploaded a version onto the famous torrent website stating “Steam lets you refund a game if you haven’t played it for more than 2 hours, and as a developer we can see the reason why people refunded it. When we read the explanation from someone who wr...

Darkwood Is The Most Terrifying Game You Will Ever Play, And It’s Not What You Expect

I am not a big fan of horror games for rather obvious reasons – I get shit scared! So when I first saw Darkwood, I thought this was a game that I could handle – the top down perspective and the lack of jump scares had me thinking that there was no way this game could get really scary. I was dead wrong. Deadwood is a top down horror game with rogue-like elements. The game relies on its dark, foreboding and oppressive atmosphere to keep tensions high at all times – finding shelter and surviving another day feels like a huge relief. You are tasked with exploring and scavenging by day while you try to hunker down and defend your home-base during the night. A limited cone of vision and line of sight always keeps you on edge. During nights, while you’re cowering inside yo...
