The big guns came out today at E3, with conferences from both Sony and Microsoft laying down their cards for the future of this generation of consoles. Without much further ado, here’s the main announcements from Sony: The Last Guardian was resurrected on the PS4, with the Sony conference opening with seven straight minutes of footage of the game running off of a PS4. Fumito Ueda is back at the helm, after leaving Sony to found his own studio. The game has a 2016 launch window. Horizon: Zero Dawn, being developed by Guerilla of Killzone fame was also revealed. Well we all are now used to the yearly COD release 😉 In the meanwhile Activision has been focusing the Call of Duty: Black Ops III spotlight on PC and current-gen consoles. Tonight, the publisher has announced details for gamers who haven’t yet upgraded. If you are hoping to play Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty entry on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, you’re in luck. Beenox and Mercenary Technology are assisting on those versions. Activision has suggested some of the changes that players will experience on older hardware. There is a “goal” of two-player cooperative play (as opposed to four-player co-op on PC and current-gen). For Call of Duty fans this will come as great news. Activision has teased a possible upcoming entry to the series for Nintendo’s Wii U.
