E3 Diary: Clash of the Titans Pt. 1 (Sony)

The big guns came out today at E3, with conferences from both Sony and Microsoft laying down their cards for the future of this generation of consoles. The shows today were jam packed to the gills with announcements of exclusives old and new.

Without much further ado, here’s the main announcements from Sony:

The Last Guardian was resurrected on the PS4, with the Sony conference opening with seven straight minutes of footage of the game running off of a PS4. Fumito Ueda is back at the helm, after leaving Sony to found his own studio. The game has a 2016 launch window.
Horizon: Zero Dawn, being developed by Guerilla of Killzone fame was also revealed. It’s a Man v/s Dinosaurs game set way after an apocalypse, except the dinosaurs are actually sentient robots. The game plays as a semi-stealth tribal warfare combat with bows and melee weapons in third Person perspective.

A New PS4 (timed) Exclusive beta for the Hitman reboot was also shown off, the game being hailed as “the most ambitious Hitman game ever.” The game will have Agent 47 travelling across the world, and a short trailer showed Agent 47doing the deed in various ways, from poisoning wine to straight up sniping a mark.
Street Fighter V: Sony is still rubbing it’s exclusivity in everyone’s face. Cammy and Birdie were confirmed to be playable characters, and new footage was shown off.

Destiny’s Taken King DLC/Expansion was also showcased and pegged to release on the 15th of September of this year.

Final Fantasy VII will be getting it’s long awaited remake, which will be coming to PS4 first as a timed exclusive, with no word yet on release date. World of Final Fantasy, a chibi reimagining of the Final Fantasy canon, is coming to PS4 and Vita in 2016.
Shenmue is back! A Kickstarter was announced by creator Yu Suzuki with a goal of US$ 3 Million. It is open right now, and has been successfully funded too! The game is a direct sequel and not a reboot or different story arc.

Devolver Digital announced ports for Ronin, Eitr, Mother Russia Bleeds, and Crossing Souls to PS4
AC: Syndicate will have exclusive DLC for PS4 called The Dreadful Crimes where players solve crimes seemingly inspired by Sherlock Holmes.

No Man’s Sky was showcased again with a live demo, which looked enticing as the day it was newly announced. Still no word on the PC release date, though.

Sony announced a Morpheus multiplayer FPS called RIGS, a 3v3 shooter. A few demos were also shown for Morpheus.

Call of Duty Black Ops III will have all DLC released on PS4 first, with the Beta coming this August.
Limited-edition Disney Infinity 3.0 bundle is coming to PlayStation 4 containing Twilight of the Republic (Episodes 1-3) and Rise Against theEmpire (Episode 4-6).
