Sup’Air Hockey Review

Sup’Air Hockey Review

When you just begin the game, SupAir’ Hockey presents itself as a simplified Air Hockey game with some power-ups, and a rather simplified backdrop. However, if you let that hold you back from getting into the game, you’ll be missing out on what soon becomes a enjoyably frantic, and highly competitive.

The basics are simple. There’s a virtual hockey puck that you hit by making swipes across the screen, and try to score points. With every hit (not a goal/point), you get a power-up. And this is where the game gets truly delightful. While some enable you to add simple modifiers like speeding up or slowing the puck for a few seconds, others let you add magnets to the opponent’s goal which pull the puck inwards, or add extra goal on their side which makes them have to defend two goals, or add an extra puck which just gets crazy, and a lot more. The power-ups are really clever and add a lot of depth to the game.

You also unlock themes as you keep bagging victories, and they add a nice touch. I’d recommend the ‘Pinky’ theme!

You could play the game with the AI, which can be set to the difficulty of your choice. This is recommended so as to get a hang of the basics. But the real fun is playing with a friend, which is easy to set up, and in seconds you’re up competing against a human player. Pretty soon you’ll be tapping away, even using multiple fingers to keep swiping and using power-ups simultaneously. Hey, you could even mess around with the other player’s part of the screen!

All in all, Sup’Air Hockey is an absolute blast. While real Air Hockey is fun, Sup’Air Hockey reigns supreme for me because of how awesome the power-ups are!

If you’re looking for a fun and addictive game, to play either with yourself or with friends, Sup’Air Hockey is an excellent choice. You can get sit from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
