Overwatch is a frantic game, and with so much going on at once, it can be hard make out what’s happening and who’s going to survive in team fights. Even more so when you’re spectating in the third person. Thankfully, Blizzard is planning to add a floating health bars over all the players as can be seen in the new PTR patch, making it easier to read and maybe predict the outcomes for both spectators and casters.
The above video was posted to YouTube by esports person Doa. He says, “”I think this is going to help casting quite a bit in some of these bigger fights. You can tell the narrative of the fight a little bit more, you can see who’s getting lower. Poor Zenyatta, will he live through the fight? It’s so exciting now because I can actually look at the fight and the life bars at the same time without going back and forth between the characters in the middle of the screen and the life bars up the top—I can keep my eye on the action, I can keep my eye on the health at the same time.”
The feature is currently there in the PTR, though it’s likely that Blizzard will make it live sooner than later.
