A movie based on United Front Games’ Sleeping Dogs is on the way, and who better to grace the movie than the IP Man himself?
According to a report by Deadline, the upcoming movie will feature Donnie Yen, who recently starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and is better known as the lead in the IP Man series. The movie is being produced by Original Film, which has a flare for action movies like the Fast and Furious series.
Players took on the role of Wei Shen, an undercover cop in Hong Kong, portrayed by actor Will Yun Lee in the game. In an attempt to infiltrate and take down a criminal empire, they had to fight their way up the ranks, without blowing their cover. The game was originally released for the Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012. A Definitive Edition was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One two years later in 2014. Following the cancellation of a spin-off title called Triad Wars in 2015, United Front Games closed its doors and shut down last year.
