Microsoft has confirmed that their upcoming Windows 10/Xbox One exclusive Scalebound has been cancelled. The official statement is as follows:
After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for “Scalebound.” We’re working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including “Halo Wars 2,” “Crackdown 3,” “State of Decay 2,” “Sea of Thieves” and other great experiences.
Scalebound was an ambitious title under development by Platinum Games, from Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya. The game was first announced by Microsoft at E3 2014, and had been in development hell for a long time. The game was showcased at the 2016 E3 conference as well, but there had been no news of the game’s progress since then. It was also missing from a recent Xbox Wire post that talked about the future of Xbox One. Additionally, Microsoft has also removed the official Scalebound page from the Xbox website.
