No Man’s Sky Street Release Broken For A Case Of Beer?

Highly awaited open world space exploration game, No Man’s Sky, is set to release on the 9th of August. However, if Reddit user Defnotoo is to be believed, he may have acquired a copy of the game early by bribing a store clerk. While it’s not unusual for highly anticipated games to leak/have release dates broken, specially in the Middle East, it’s unprecedented for it to have happened this early, almost two weeks early.

Defnotoo claims that be bribed a store clerk to get his hands on a PS4 version of No Man’s Sky, but is hesitant to try playing the game, since it might require online activation. Online servers may either not be active, thus allowing him to play the game, or, in an even worse scenario, block the account for breaking release date/unauthorised access.

This is still a rumor, since the user might just be bluffing, or be a store employee himself with access to the game. He also says that the bribe was simply a ‘case of beer’, which could indicate that the store is a friend or close acquaintance, since he could be getting in some serious trouble of Sony or Hello games catches on to this.

A similar post was also found on Imgur, with the exact same verbiage:

Bribed a store clerk into selling me a copy of No Man’s Sky early. Will I be banned from PS4 if I try to load it?

The hype around the game is palpable and at an all time high. After numerous delays, we’re all excited to get our hands on this game.
