Last year, EA had teased its Nintendo Switch plans by indicating that it will bring one of its biggest games to the upcoming home-cum-portable console. Much to everyone’s dismay, that game might not be Mass Effect: Andromeda.
In an interview with Stevivor, Producer Mike Gamble said that Bioware doesn’t have any plans to bring Andromeda to the Nintendo Switch yet. If the people really want to see it, they will consider it. “Yeah, not right now, no,” he said when asked about Andromeda’s Switch version. “We’re not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that.”
Earlier, Bioware had released Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U, but supposedly it did not fare well in sales, so that might be the cause for concern for the studio. Additionally, Nintendo has yet to reveal the specs and launch titles for its upcoming hardware, in a briefing scheduled for 12th January.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released with during spring this year for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. According to the report, Bioware will discuss the PS 4 Pro enhancements in January or February.
