XCOM 2 is the sequel to the award-winning strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It is developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. XCOM 2 is releasing this month and here are 5 reasons why is it going to be awesome.
Gameplay
XCOM: Enemy Within had great gameplay in which the player is cast as the commander of an elite military organization and as a commander the player has to command its soldiers against the aliens in combat missions in a turn base strategy design. XCOM 2 carries the same design and improves it further by introducing tactical guerrilla combat. The state of the world affects each combat mission and its environment. This time as a commander you can order your soldiers to take missions in which you can ambush enemy patrols, rescue VIPs, loot precious gear and artifacts which may help you have an edge in the battle.
New Enemy Arrives
in XCOM 2 a new and more vicious enemy arrives: a much more powerful species of aliens, from the Advent enforcers to the alien regime which shall provide new distinct and difficult challenges. Are you ready to take the challenge as a commander and help your soldiers to be victorious in getting back your home planet?
Day 1 MOD Support
XCOM 2 will be giving the community the tools to create their own mods which can be used to make new maps, aliens, classes, etc which can be shared on Steam Workshop and be used in the game from Day 1. Yes you read that right, MOD support will be available from Day 1. Now isn’t that fantastic!
New Areas
In XCOM 2, you as a commander will have to take on missions and send your soldiers around the world in different areas, from wildlands to alien controlled megacites to even depths of alien installations. There can be virtually many kinds of combinations of maps, missions, and goals for each area.
Multiplayer
After finishing up the Single Player Campaign, you can head on to multiplayer as XCOM 2 will allow players to play against each other where one player will be commanding a human squad and other player will be commanding a alien squad on randomly generated maps.
So these are the 5 reasons as to why XCOM is going to be awesome! XCOM 2 is releasing only for PC on the 5th of February.
