For many of us who watched the latest trailer for The Last Us 2, the biggest question was – “Who are all these people? Where are Ellie and Joel?” As it turns out, Naughty Dog has a wider cast of characters in mind with The Last Of Us 2, with one of them possibly being Ellie’s mom.
Rumors have it that the woman that had been captured and was being hung up for execution is in fact Ellie’s mom, and she is a part of the Fireflies – one of the rebel factions in The Last Of Us universe. When she’s being hung up, one of her captors takes a knife to her stomach saying that she was “nested with sin”, which implies her being pregnant, with Ellie quite possibly being the baby.
The woman’s face also has a striking resemblance to Ellie, but her muscular features are definitely not the same as that of the Ellie we saw in the first trailer.
We are really eager to see what Naughty Dog has in store for us with The Last Of Us 2, and it’s clear that they have a dark, violent story to tell.
