Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta Starts On February 23
Today, Ubisoft announced that the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands Open Beta will be available to all players from February 23rd to 27th, 2017, on current-gen consoles and PC. Players eager to jump into the Ghost’s boots and tame the Wildlands will be able to pre-load the Open Beta starting this Monday, February 20th, 2017. Each player entering this Open Beta will get access to an exclusive mission – the “Unidad Conspiracy” mission, in which players will spark a war between the Unidad, a local corrupt militia group, and the Santa Blanca cartel – by playing the full game before March 31st, using the same Ubisoft account. Yes you are adventuring in space, and yes you can explore planets, but according to producer Michael Gamble, Mass Effect Andromeda is not an ‘Open World Game’. In an interview with OXM (Official Xbox Magazine), he discussed some of the aspects of the new Mass Effect game saying that it would be an ‘exploration-based game’. “I definitely wouldn’t call Andromeda an open-world game,” Gamble said. “We like to use the term ‘exploration-based game’. Halo Wars 2 Physical Release Cancelled in North America
In January, THQ Nordic announced that they had partnered up with Microsoft for a cool boxed release of Halo Wars 2. The game was actually supposed to have two editions, a standard one and an Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition included the Season Pass and Halo Wars Definitive Edition. However, it seems that all these plans may have laid to rest, and North American gamers may not get to see the upcoming RTS unless they order it from overseas. For those who couldn’t get into the closed beta for Ghost Recon: Wildlands that happened recently, there’s some good news. Ubisoft has confirmed during an earnings call that an open beta will also be available soon in the coming weeks before the game’s release. This news doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, as Ubisoft had said in November that Wildlands will get an open beta. The publisher hasn’t announced exactly when the open beta will begin or what content will be available for players to try out, but it’s comforting to know that it is indeed on its way.
