Performance anxiety for PS4 and Xbox One ?

With the upcoming next generation of consoles, PlayStation 4 is currently around 50 per cent faster than its rival Xbox One. Multiple high-level game development sources have described the difference in performance between the consoles as “significant” and “obvious.” It is reported that memory reads on PS4 are 40-50 per cent quicker than Xbox One, and its ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) is around 50 per cent faster. Watch Dogs might run on 30fps on Xbox One, PS4

Valve develops its own Game Controller too

Yesterday morning, Valve revealed the first steps of its plan to marry the new SteamOS to custom hardware. According to the Steam Machines Beta Test Agreement, Valve has developed a game controller. Speculation has been abundant about the third of Valve’s announcements, which is scheduled for reveal on Friday at 1 PM Eastern. “Valve Corporation (“Valve”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”) has developed and produced prototypes of entertainment system hardware and software, including a set-top box running custom software and a game controller (collectively: “Beta Products”),” the agreement states. PS Games to potentially stream to PC’s, TV’s and Phones

PlayStation games may one day stream directly to PC’s Smart TV’s and even smartphones. Once this phenomenon becomes reality, PlayStation will be seen as more of a service rather than just a mere line of consoles. SCE Worldwide Studios head, Shuhei Yoshida said that the rollout of Gaikai’s cloud services on PlayStation 4 next year is only the start of what the company hopes to achieve, in an interview with Dengeki Online. “Speaking of the ultimate goal, we would like to deliver PlayStation games to all devices,” he said. “So we’re considering various things like PC, TVs, Blu-ray players, smartphones and tablets. This is what Metal Gear Solid 5 gameplay looks like

Konami did a live demo of a Metal Gear Solid 5 mission at TGS (not a real mission, but it does take place in a real game location), running on PS4 and showing off the Fox Engine’s ability to render sunlight. Check  the video. MGS: Ground Zeroes has also received a quartet of screens, care of Konami.
