Next Battlefield 4 patch to solve “one-hit kill bug” and more
DICE dropped an update on the Battlefield 4 forum this morning indicating that it plans to patch the PC version sometime next week, after the Thanksgiving weekend. According to the patch notes, the update will address some of the key technical issues still present in BF4 a month after launch. The most significant of these is in our mind is the one-hit kill bug, an issue where headshots within eight meters are occasionally dealing more than their predicted 200 percent damage. EA looking into unavailable Battlefield 4 DLC on Xbox One
EA mentioned that it was going to be investigating reports that the Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC is, at the moment, unavailable to those who have bought Battlefield Premium on Xbox One. The DLC, includes four Battlefield 3 maps updated for the latest title, and is an exclusive on Xbox One and will be free for paid-up members of the Premium service. But Premium users are having issues with this, and saying that a new entry on the in-game Battlefield store, where the Second Assault DLC would normally be found, is listed as NULL DATA. Grand Theft Auto V‘s free Beach Bum DLC is now available to download, alongside the game’s 1.06 update. While it didn’t bring the one feature that so many fans had been hoping for, audio files taken from the update could shine a light on other activities headed to the online version of the game. It is no secret that Heists is wanted by most GTA Online players, but not all of them are bothered because the delay gives them something to look forward to, as well as forces them to do other things within the online version of Grand Theft Auto. PlayStation 3 owners will get the content automatically as part of the update, whereas Xbox 360 owners need to update the game and download the DLC for free from Xbox Live. Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD to come out early next year
We last heard about Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation towards the end of 2012, but the word around is that Ubisoft revealed that an HD version of the game is in the making and would be coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. And we now know, well at least for PS3, when it will happen. Momchil Valentinov Gindyanov, Ubisoft Sofia’s Producer revealed on the PlayStation Blog that Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD will be coming to the PlayStation Network as a digital download on the 14th of January 2014 in North America. And will go on to hit Europe on the 15th of January. However, no word yet on the 360 or PC. The sorry saga of 505 Games’ Ashes Cricket 2013 continues beginning with one of the dumbest trailers in gaming history, it was supposed to appear in June this year. You know, in time for the Ashes. It didn’t make it, except they got lucky. The usual two year gap between the Australia Vs England bat-to-ball grudge series, they’ve started another one already, just a few months later. Assassin’s Creed 4 developers are PC fans
After a lot of talk about the fact that developers are unconcerned with PC optimization, Ubisoft has responded with a brief showcase of the design process behind games like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Contrary to reports in the media, Ubisoft designers are “PC fans,” according to a new post by Communications Manager Gary Steinman. Steinman, a former editor of PC Gamer, had additional comments from Ubisoft associate producer Sylvain Trottier, who he says was “re-quoted out of context” in the media with regard to the PC version of ACIV. Trottier feels there is some confusion about how and when PCs are pushed to their maximum during the development process. Research Shows $3.45 Billion Spent On Video Game Content In The U.S. During The Third Quarter Of 2013, A 17 Percent Increase Over Same Time Period Last Year According to a recent report from the NPD group, U.S. consumers spent 3.45 billion dollars last quarter on video game content — up 17 percent from the same quarter in 2012. Leading the charge was Grand Theft Auto 5, which shattered all single-day sales records with an $800 million dollar opening. Additionally, the report stated that physical game software accounted for $1.30 billion, while another $1.75 billion was spent on digital content (DLC, subscriptions, social, mobile, and full digital purchases). Here is some fantastic news for all the Battlefield 4 players, since the worldwide release was not without technical glitches, so players will be happy to learn DICE is attempting to make good on those issues by offering double XP. From November 28-December 5, players across all platforms will earn double XP in every multiplayer match they complete, DICE announced today. “We understand that the launch issues may have impacted your progression, and we want to do everything we can to help you get back the XP that you may have lost,” DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson said. Microsoft sells over a million Xbox Ones in 24 hours
Microsoft on Friday said that more than a million Xbox One consoles were snapped up within 24 hours in 13 countries after hitting shelves for the first time in the morning. The US-based technology titan described it as the biggest launch in Xbox history, setting a new sales record at the company.
