Borderlands 3 Gets Unreal Engine Based Tech Demo At GDC

Borderlands 3 got a tech demo at GDC this year by Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford himself. Speaking at Epic Games’ Unreal Engine showcase, He showed off what they intend to do with Unreal Engine Tech in the next Borderlands game.

Randy Pitchford explained how the company tackling the cell shaded outline-heavy art style of the Borderlands games, and how they were using the etch to approach it in a new way.

The presentation showed off characters and scenes from the game in development, and it overall looks rather promising. He did mention that the scenes were purely for demo purposes and may or may not appear in a future video game.

It had already been confirmed at last year’s PAX that once Battleborn and its upcoming DLCs were done, the next game on their plates will be Borderlands 3.
