Corey Gaspur, the lead designer on Bioware’s upcoming title, Anthem, and whose previous works include Mass Effect 2, 3, and Dragon Age: Origins is no more. The news was announced earlier today by the studio in a blog post.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague Corey Gaspur.
He was a member of our team for over nine years, and worked as a designer on many of our titles, including Sonic Chronicles, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2 and 3, and most recently Anthem.
Corey was a talented designer and an even better person. We offer our condolences to Corey’s family and everyone that knew him.
We will miss you.”
Gaspur first started working for Bioware Edmonton in 2007, his first accredited project being Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, an RPG for the Nintendo DS. Later on, he played a key role in designing combat for the Mass Effect games. Recently, he consulted on Star Wars: Battlefront and Mass Effect: Andromeda, before taking up the lead designer role for the upcoming major game, Anthem.
