Wolfenstein Youngblood – Review

Wolfenstein Youngblood – Review

Wolfenstein Youngblood is the latest entry in the Wolfenstein series, and puts you in the shoes of Blazkowicz’s twin daughters. The game is set 20 years after the events of Wolfenstein 2, in a fictional future where Blazkowicz has killed Hitler and then gone missing. The sisters, Jessica and Sophia set out to Paris in search of their father, where some Nazi presence still prevails. The story is not as good as the previous two games in the series, but the gameplay is immensely satisfying and the banter between the twins is really fun to listen to. The enemies themselves are fairly varied and the encounters are well designed.

The city itself is more open with various nooks and corners to explore. There’s a semi open world approach being tested here, which may mean that Wolfenstein 3 might end up being open world. The combat really is the stand out here – it’s fluid, brutal and it’s really easy to get into a good flow with the game. While the story itself is not all that good, there are definitely memorable moments in the game. Overall, good value for money.
