Square Enix is Recruiting Staff to Make Something New for NieR
Square Enix recently put up a new staff recruitment page to add members to its scenario staff for NieR. Director Yoko Taro and producer Yosuke Saito also shared some messages about the recruitment.
The recruitment page lists that they’re in need of a scenario writer who will work on scenario production and planning work related to the NieR series. They’ll be in charge of making scenarios and plots for sub-quests, design instructions for NPCs and other in-game design specifications, as well as item descriptions and more.
Here’s a message from Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito:
Hello. I’m the NieR series director Yoko Taro. Thanks to all the support from everyone, it appears that the NieR series will be getting various developments. In any case, there’s a limit to how much the lazy Yoko can do on his own.
So after consulting Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito “I’m at my limit” I am now tasked with gathering a team to work with me, so we’re recruiting talent.
I know some of you may be worried thinking “Just what kind of person is Yoko?” but I, too, am full of worries about “Just what kind of people will we get….” However, I think it would be nice to just talk a little bit, together as worried people. (Licks).
I’ve consulted with Yoko-san about what we’re going to do with NieR from this point on, if it was a one-hit wonder this last time, if this is the highest we’ll ever reach, and so on.
However, I have a feeling that a multitude of people waiting for more from the world of NieR. No, I’m certain of it. That said, Yoko-san isn’t God. He’s human. He cries at times, he gets discouraged at times.
To help out such a Yoko, I’d like to take this opportunity to recruit people to help weave together this world of NieR, and we’ve decided to kick off the “NieR product-related scenario staff recruitment.”
While it might be a narrow gate to enter, do please apply if you’re interested. Thank you very much.
