The Town of Light Coming To PS 4

LKA announced recently that their psychological horror title The Town of Light will be coming to the PlayStation 4 sometime this year.

Originally launched on the PC last year, the game is inspired by true events and set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum in Tuscany, Italy. It is a facility that was operational for almost an entire century, before being closed in the 70s. You play as a resident of the institution named Renee, attempting to put your past together after the asylum being closed off.

According to the studio, the game is not meant for children and young audiences as  it contains delicate themes which may not be suitable for the younger players. “The game has some difficult moments making it unsuitable for children, but moments which we felt were important to include, doing justice to those who suffered at the hands of a system which was clearly overwhelmed and itself didn’t know all of the answers,” art director and screenwriter Luca Dalco said. “Today, things are of course very different as great advances in the care for those with mental illness have been made around the world.”

The PlayStation 4 port of The Town of Light will include a number of enhancements and features, including improved visual effects, story and new gameplay elements, as an effort to make it more immersive. No definite release date has been defined yet.
