Earlier this year, Kickstarter saw a cute little hand-painted project born out of the minds of Rex Crowle and Moo Yu, who have previously worked on titles like LittleBigPlanet and Ratchet & Clank. Called Knights and Bikes, the game has now bagged Double Fine as the publisher.
The game is set in the late 1980s on a fictional British Island and draws inspiration from The Goonies and 90s JRPGs. Your heroes are Nessa and Demelza, tasked with cycling around the island, pedalling their way into troubles with frisbees and water balloons. In short, this game might be just perfect to take you back to your childhood, when every little thing would fill you with wonder and amazement.
You can watch the trailer for the game below:
Here’s what Moo Yu had to say about the partneship, “I’ve spent so many hours plunging myself into the imaginative worlds that Double Fine has conjured, getting to know their intriguing characters inside and out. In Knights and Bikes, I want players to feel that same connection and curiosity as they meet our cast of misfits and delve into the mysteries of the island of Penfurzy.”
There aren’t any specifics out yet, but according to the game’s Kickstarter page, Knights and Bikes is set to launch sometime around April 2017.
