During the New York Comic Con, Andy Serkis revealed that War for the Planet of Apes will also get a game for a consoles, and he’ll be performing the motion capture for the game. The game will be exclusive to consoles for the time being and will release at the same time around the movie.
Serkis did not reveal a lot of details about the movie, but speaking with GameSpot, he did talk a little about the game. He said, “I don’t think it’s ever been done before. We created it at the Imaginarium, which is my studio. Without giving too much away about it, it’s not like a first-person shooter. It feels like an interactive movie. And that’s all I can say other than that it will be coming out around the same time as the movie.”
Serkis has perviously worked with Ninja Theory (DmC Devil May Cry) for titles like Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword, mainly on motion capture and voice. He also lent his voice to characters in Risen. He is also to be featured in the upcoming highly anticipated title Star Citizen.
War for the Planet of Apes movie will open up in theaters on 14th July 2017 and stars Andy Serkis, Judy Green, Woody Harrelson and Steve Zahn. The project is headed by Matt Reeves, who directed Dawn of the Planet of Apes.
