As promised, Sony revealed a Slim version of the PlayStation 4 at the Sony PlayStation Meeting on 7th September.
The PS 4 Slim is essentially the same as its predecessor, but in a smaller form factor and more portability. It offers the same power and internal specification as the original PS 4, and is fully compatible with all the currently available software.
The new console also comes with a redesigned version of the DualShock 4. The lightbar is now oriented to face the player a little better, so they can see the notifications prompted by in-game events. The optical port was also dropped out, but apart from that it has the same I/O options. Talking about size, it is supposed to be about 30% smaller than the original PlayStation 4.
The PlayStation 4 Slim will be available on retail stores starting 15th September, and will have a price tag of $299.
