No Companion App for Syndicate

No Companion App for Syndicate

This year’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be the first entry in the stealth-action series in years that won’t have a dedicated companion app experience, Ubisoft confirmed in a statement today.

“There will not be a companion app,” a Ubisoft spokesperson said. “For Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience.”

Two recent entries in the series, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, both had companion app experiences that offered a variety of second-screen features.

Unity’s, for example, allowed users to view their gear statistics, access tutorials, and look at a map of the game’s version of Paris. Meanwhile, Black Flag’s offered an interactive world map and let you send your ships on missions, among other things.

Syndicate also will not have a multiplayer mode, something recent entries in the series offered players.

“The reason we are doing this is to really focus on the roots of the franchise,” says creative director Marc-Alexis Cote. “That’s why all nine studios are focused on delivering this single-player experience.”

Well, with seemingly a lot going in to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, this just might be the game to bring the series back to it’s former glory!!
