We as Gamers always crib about the lack of innovation in the current lot of games and industry in general, but while some titles are simply iterations of the earlier versions with a few cosmetic enhancements, some other developers are always trying new things. Here’s a list of some interesting concepts being explored in upcoming games which we feel should be a reason enough to excite you J So read on…

5. Evolve

Turtle Rock’s Left 4 Dead set a standard for cooperative play. Evolve not only goes a step ahead in the co-op space, it offers a new take on competitive play as well. The player who controls the monster has a completely different playing style, abilities, and view of the action than his or her four opponents. Additionally, Evolve is being built to support an expandable roster, so Turtle Rock can easily add new monsters and hunters in the months and possibly years to come, each with their own unique abilities and characteristics. If this sounds fun you should check out the trailer.

4. Unreal Tournament

Epic is working on a new instalment of the popular online competitive shooter, while it hasn’t shared many details about the project yet. The folks at Epic are focussed on is to keep the game free. Not free-to-play, mind you – completely free, without any micro-transactions and this sounds super exciting 🙂

There have been plenty of Lord of the Rings games over the years, but Shadow of Mordor promises an open-world experience like no other. Monolith will introduce the Nemesis system. 1. Destiny

Bungie is doing a lot of exciting things in this hotly anticipated new sci-fi franchise, including taking an MMO approach to a console shooter. The folks at bungie are taking a new approach to upgrades. Rather than having to level-up multiple characters, players choose one basic class and then level-up focuses. These builds can be switched on the fly for different circumstances.

Upgrades also extend to your equipment as well, including guns, each of which has its own upgrade tree. As a result, Legendary weapons aren’t just more powerful, but provide deeper skill trees to customize. Even if you and a friend are using the same weapon, they may function in completely different ways, giving players plenty of customization options when exploring Bungie’s new worlds.

Destiny to be inspired from Borderlands
