Here is a list of glitches of 2013. Some are incredibly funny, while some showcase the downside of an industry too focused on release dates. Lets check them out.
Dancing Torture – Battlefield 4
In the latest addition to the war game connoisseurs’ favourite game, war is hell. It’s the closest thing any of our generation of gamers will get to actual open warfare, and the franchise thrives on the so-called authenticity that makes it stand out against long-time rival Call Of Duty, and there’s no way EA would ever be caught making glitchy Battlefield games that are both comical and horrifying. Battlefield 4 was probably the most glitchy of all Battlefield titles in the early days (especially in the open beta) and it became obvious that one of the most devastating weapons in the entire game was the lowly blow torch.
Giant Hands – Fifa 14
It’s hard to tell whether or not someone has been playing around with their FIFA 14 to create this giant handed player effect, but the result is so deliriously brilliant, and equally creepy that it wouldn’t have been right not to include it, if only for this ref and his comically over-sized red card
GTA V : The Flying Shark
Grand Theft Auto games invariably come with a large number of breaks and glitches: no matter how exceptional they are in the end, it seems that no amount of development time can ever be enough to iron out all of the kinks and bugs, and GTA V was no different.
In the latest addition to the behemoth franchise, which turned heads and made millions long before it was even released, Rockstar chose to add animals to shake things up (and make sure that the player could be killed mercilessly if they ever had the audacity to walk around mountain lion territory without their wits about them) and that addition lead to one of the greatest sub-games in GTA history.
Ascension Of The Jackdaw – Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Physical defects in games can be hilarious, but it is usually they that lead to the most harrowing of results, as one gamer found when capturing footage in Ubisoft’s pirate-themed Assassin’s Creed release.
This one reads like a catalogue of signs that the Day Of Days is upon us: firstly a yawning and infinite void opens in the water behind our hero, who watches (presumably agog, though he looks unperturbed) as his crew then appear writhing in mid-air, before floating off into the sky to be at peace.
