Windows 10 To Get A “Game Mode”?

Windows 10 To Get A “Game Mode”?

Microsoft might have some big plans for gaming on Windows 10. As cited by Ubergizmo, Twitter user @h0x0d found a new “gamemode.dll” in the latest developer build of Windows 10. This Dll apparently allows users to adjust CPU and GPU resources in order to allocated more power for running games instead of background applications.

Essentially, it allows your PC to act like a console, freeing up most of the processing power solely for gaming purposes. This move is also indicative of the fact that Microsoft continues to take gaming on Windows 10 more and more seriously, offering features like Xbox Play Anywhere, which allows you to run selective games on both platforms through a single digital purchase.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed anything officially, but it’s likely that this feature could be included in the major Windows 10 Creators Update scheduled for early 2017.
