Will Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Be Worth Playing Today? | Time Capsule

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to a soon-to-be-remastered-edition of Time Capsule.

With all the excitement around the remastered version of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, we decided to play the game again and see how well it plays compared to today’s modern shooters, and figure out if the remaster will be worth buying.

Anyways, Call Of Duty is a game about patriots who love their country and their freedom. If you’re an American, that is. If you’re not, then imagine that you are, and you’ll start feeling freerer within moments. So these patriots receive information about impending attacks on their freedom infested country, and set about on a globe-trotting adventure. They rescue their Russian friend Nikolai, who’s also big on freedom. Words like loyalist and nationalist get thrown around, and they quickly set off to riddle their enemies with freedom-enriched 50 caliber bullets.

Their next stop is a TV broadcast station, where Al-Asad, a terrorist dude with a terrorist name is telling his fellow terrorist dudes that freedom is overrated. The mission turns out to be a waste though, since Al-Asad was nowhere to be seen. It must’ve been one of those pre-recorded tapes that was being broadcasted. Anyways, it’s good that he escaped, since we still have 5-6 hours more of action to get through.

Things escalate real quick from there on, and pretty soon we have a nuclear detonation on our hands. It’s all very intense, and one of the characters we play as dies in the blast radius. Real dramatic. I even shed a tear. Not for too long though, the freedom machine has no intention of stopping.

A few major spoiler events later, we take a nostalgia trip to Chernobyl, where Cpt. Price tells us about his days as a Stalker, and gives us a bit more background about the main villain in the game. Admittedly, this was one of the best levels in any video game.

A few more countries, and 500 million bullets later, the game comes to an thrilling and satisfying conclusion. Phew, what a ride. Though the real fun is only beginning. The game’s multiplayer is a blast. With excellent levelling, great maps, and fun modes to play, I myself spent countless hours into it, and have fond memories of playing it with my college mates. Also that was a time when 13 year olds had not started banging my mum.

So yeah, Modern Warfare is the best Call Of Duty they ever made. Sure the shooting mechanics and gameplay have been refined over the years. If they add all of that, along with some major visual upgrade, then the remaster will definitely be worth playing. Though does that justify buying whatever new recycled warfare they’re bundling it with? Hell no, that shit belongs in the garbage.

And as always, if you enjoy running around shooting people in the face, be sure to aim for that share button, to share this article with your friends, and your mom, she must be bored, cuz I stopped banging her after Modern Warfare 3.
