Vehicular Combat Prevails

With increasingly expanding open worlds in video games, its only expected that the players get better and more versatile ways of exploring them. Gone are the days of traversing tight corridors on foot. It’s the age of  dashing across the open roads on speedy vehicles.

And, not just exploring, vehicles have been outfitted with features to give the player an incredible amount of strategic edge, so as to emerge victorious in battle. Read on to know about some of the best open games (both released and upcoming) with some spectacular vehicles:

1. Batman Arkham Knight:

Batman-big_1

Everybody’s favorite superhero is back for his final fight against against the toughest bunch of villains. Reeling from the after shocks of Joker’s death, Gotham’s slimy underworld is torn in a brutal power struggle, and what emerges is viler than the city has ever faced before.

With a map size 5 times bigger than Arkham City, it’s only fair that Batman gets to rest his legs occasionally. And this is where the Batmobile makes an entrance. And quiet explosively too. With unique features and a huge arsenal of upgrade-able weapons, the Batmobile is ever handy, be it taking down enemies, covering larger distances or even solving many of the game’s puzzles.

2. Metal Gear Solid V:

Snake is back, after 9 years in coma due to the explosive end to the events in Ground Zeroes. And, this time his adventures take him across a vast open world filled with treacherous territories. And while planning for every mission, it’s worth taking into consideration the type of vehicle you will need.

There are off-road vehicles, military trucks and even tanks if you are so inclined. The different vehicles cater to different play-styles and suite the varied terrain in the game.  The vehicles can also be customized, with updrades, emblems and other personal touches. The option to drop in vehicles in between missions also underlines their usefulness.

3. Mad Max:

Exploring that desert in Mad Max is divided into two main parts: driving and running around on foot. The driving sections look very intriguing, with high-speed combat that feel like a crunchier, more impactful version of Twisted Metal. The game will offer a huge amount of customization options, by building your car from just a mess of parts to the ultimate war machine.

In Batman: Arkham Knight, the Batmobile is a tool for getting the job done. In Mad Max, however, your car is your life. Without it, you’ll easily slip from Mad Max to Dead Max. Because Mad Max is all about the cars, at any time in the game, you can hit the Option button and enter the Garage, the screen that lets you upgrade your vehicle. New body color doesn’t cost anything, so don’t be shy to pimp that ride up!

Project Cars:

Now this is probably this year’s biggest titles, that delivers a refined racing simulation experience. Project Cars has no unlockables, everything from the best cars and the toughest races is open to the player from the start of the game. The challenge is in understanding the race, the weather patterns and how it affects the driving, the deep customization options, and tuning your car to hit the right balance.

There are dozens of characteristics for you to learn about, adjust, and test out: change how open your radiator is, modify your gear timing, increase or reduce tire pressure, and even manage your fuel load. Each of these has some effect on your driving, and if you really hope to compete, you can’t take a “one size fits all” approach. This is where Project Cars stands out from other racing titles. You learn and prepare, and then win the race.
