In a post on the official Titanfall website, Respawn announced it has removed both Capture The Flag and Pilot Hunter as separate playlists, due to their “not being widely used modes” on the PC edition.
While the modes will not be accessible in open matches, each will continue to be available to play in Private Matches. The move follows long wait times accessing these modes due to a lack of players playing them. According to Respawn, most players are focusing on the Attrition and Hardpoint modes.
“We want to make sure that not only is there compelling content in the playlists we offer, but that the experience of joining a match works well,” a spokesperson for the studio wrote. “We’re tracking what playlists players are choosing, and we’re going to continue to look at unpopular playlists and add new ones on both platforms.”
The studio writes that it will still “rotate” the modes in future playlists, and that news on new game modes and updates will be available shortly. The news follows the release of the first Titanfall DLC pack last week in the form of Expedition. A new Titanfall companion app was also released, allowing users to track leaderboards from smartphones and tablets.
