Respawn Studio Working On A Game For Oculus VR

While the game remains secret (spoiler: it’s not Titanfall or Star Wars), our relationship with Oculus is now out in the open. We couldn’t be happier to have such a great partner, and to be building our game on such an amazing platform as the Rift. There are so many cool parts to making a game in VR, but perhaps the most intense one is emotion. While you know you’re wearing a headset, your brain processes VR on an emotional level. Though you’re in a simulation, you feel like you’re there. It’s all kinds of awesome. So as a developer, game assets you’ve seen a hundred times on a monitor suddenly become real when you put the headset on. The sense of scale, the sense of presence, there’s nothing else like it. It’s the difference between using your mouse to rotate an object in an editor and wa...

Titanfall 2 Underperforms In First Week Sales

Titanfall 2 was one of the most awaited titles this year, but it seems to have failed to live up to the bar set by its predecessor. According to Chart-Track, the game has thoroughly unperformed during its first week of sales. The newly released sci-fi shooter sold only far less copies compared to original Titanfall, falling at the fourth position in the UK charts behind Battlefield 1, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Special Edition, and FIFA 17. Its predecessor, however, was able to secure the top spot for over four weeks despite being an Xbox and PC exclusive. It seems like multi-platform support hasn’t been enough to garner enough fans for the game. Much before the release of Titanfall 2, Respawn Entertainment had announced that all the DLC Maps and Modes will be absolutely free of cost....

Titanfall 2 Won’t Be A Part Of EA Origin Access

Last month came as a huge disappointment for PC gamers when Respawn Entertainment announced that the open beta for their upcoming game Titanfall 2 won’t be available on the PC. Now, getting your hands on the game may not seem like a possibility at all, because the game won’t feature in Origin Access, or EA Access for that matter. Respawn confirmed this statement in a conversation with Gamereactor, which implies that PC and Xbox players will not get early access to Titanfall 2, neither will they be able to try it out for free. The studio did say that it might be a possibility in the future, but that won’t happen until next year at least. Titanfall 2 is set to release for the PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on 28th October. Stay tuned for further updates. For more news and r...

Check Out This Short Titanfall Film

During Gamescon 2014, the latest episode of Titanfall: Free the Frontier was released. It is a live-action short film based on Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall. And its pretty insane, just like the game. Free the Frontier was originally released by Respawn shortly before Titanfall‘s release in March by putting out a brief teaser at the time; and coming out with a longer footage at E3. The studio collaborated with Toronto-based visual effects house Playfight and director William Chang to produce Free the Frontier, and you can see a behind-the-scenes breakdown of the process of making the E3 video here. Today’s video continues past the spot the E3 clip ended. This time, our hero jumps into a Titan of his own, and carnage ensues.

Titanfall loses two game modes on PC

In a post on the official Titanfall website, Respawn announced it has removed both Capture The Flag and Pilot Hunter as separate playlists, due to their “not being widely used modes” on the PC edition. While the modes will not be accessible in open matches, each will continue to be available to play in Private Matches. The move follows long wait times accessing these modes due to a lack of players playing them. According to Respawn, most players are focusing on the Attrition and Hardpoint modes. “We want to make sure that not only is there compelling content in the playlists we offer, but that the experience of joining a match works well,” a spokesperson for the studio wrote. “We’re tracking what playlists players are choosing, and we’re going to c...

Respawn reveal that Titanfall Xbox 360 version is underway

After having confirmed that a Titanfall beta announcement for Xbox One and PC is coming soon, Respawn CEO and co-founder Vince Zampella stated that the studio that Bluepoint Games is the studio behind the Xbox 360 version of their game. Zampella wrote on Twitter: “The 360 version is being done by the amazing team at Bluepoint Games,” when asked about the 360 version of the game. That means that a 360 beta is still on the table but it seems likely that early access to the game will only be available for Xbox One and PC. Bluepoint games has worked on several previous, well-received ports including: God of War Collection for PS3 The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for PS3 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PS3 and 360 PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for Vita Flower...
