Critically acclaimed first-person puzzler The Talos Principle returns to ask one of life’s big questions: do you like DLC?
If the answer is yes, rejoice! The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna is the first of a four-part expansion series that promises “some of the most advanced and challenging puzzles yet.” Players will explore a hidden part of the simulation as Uriel, Elohim’s messenger, in his quest to free the souls of the damned.
The Road to Gehenna DLC will release on July 23 for Steam users on PC, Mac and Linux.
The Talos Principle writers Tom Jubert and Jonas Kyratzes are back to unveil an entirely different side of Elohim’s world–a civilization of new characters, legends and philosophies. Jubert also wrote FTL and The Swapper, while Kryatzes was the co-creator of The Sea Will Claim Everything and The Book of Living Magic.
“The original plan was to divide The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna into over 100 different $5 DLCs but the Devolver Digital DLC Ethics Department advised against it,” said Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. “That particular department has subsequently been disbanded.”
Who needs ethics when we have the Principle?
The Talos Principle (developed by Croteam and published by Devolver Digital) has received consistently high marks, with a Metacritic score of 86 at the time of this writing. It released on December 11, 2014 for PC, Mac, Linux and Android platforms. A PlayStation 4 version is due later this year.
