Despite some bugs and issues, Underworld Ascendant is a gem of a game, and the passion behind it is seen clearly. You start off in a prison like dungeon, and need to make your way through, interacting with the highly systems driven mechanics. It’s these interactions, and the clever puzzles solving that really makes the game shine. While the level design is clever, it’s all pretty dark and starts to look the same really fast. Same cane be said for the enemies as well, who lack much variety. Underworld Ascendant is a game with a lot of heart and potential, but it doesn;t come together as a great product.
